BTTF Nike Air Mag Replicas...my new project

Finally got to see a pair of real ones this past weekend. A buddy of mine who worked on part 3 lucked into a pair that were about to be tossed. He has the set and other stuff, parts off the 3rd Delorean (train version).

His shoes have holes under the cusion for (I assume) cables - but there are wires protruding from behind the "nike" letters. The pair were little - like maybe size 8. Kinda neat seeing them.

Got any picture :):thumbsup

I didn't have a camera with me - but I'm supposed to see him again after i get back - I'll snap a few when I get back.

Hey brad i'm gonna be out most of the day i'll compile everything for you soon :cool.I really tried going the cheapest way with these. Now if i can come up with the soles :wacko.

My brother found inverters powerful enough to do the EL Sheet for only about $4 a piece. He also found a place selling EL sheets the size of A4 paper for about $50, and it has pins all around it. It's enough to do about 25 pairs of shoes. He also suggests hunting for EL Tape. You may be able to find a roll in a one inch width, but he hasn't had time to look to extensively yet. If any of this would be useful to you, let me know and I'll get the info from him.

Here's a tutorial on how to light up your straps on your Markpoon nike air mags:love.

I went with an A5 cuttable blue/green el sheet. What i did was i took the nike decal and put it up against a piece of hard stock paper and traced an outline of it so i can make my cut out on the strap[/I] ::pic below::

img4747cly.jpg

then what i did was take the xacto knife and cut that shape out on my strap now there's 2 layers on the strap just carefully cut the front side of and just peel it should come right off just make sure you don't cut the bottom leather piece cause that's what you will krazy glue the el light piece strip on.Now basically with my shape cut out, I used it to determine the width of my el strip so it would fit right into the strap,::pic Below::

img4745r.jpg

now what you have to do is once you make the cut out on your strap you slice down the left side and right side of the strap with your knife so the el strip can slide through as seen below. ::NOTE:: I covered the remaining el strip with black electrical tape so it would cover any access light coming from the strip.

and you will need 2 Inverters for small sheet/tape with alligator clips (One for each shoe)

Hi there guys! Nice tut pitbull!

I just got my shoes and will be converting them as well. I got the LED's and i'm going to order the el sheet. Has anyone made any progress on the sole lights? I'll post some pics as soon as i make progress.

Awesome Pitbull... by the way, where did you get the Marty and Doc Framed photo? Did you make the frame yourself? If so, can you post a "how to" thread? thanks

Ok so i worked on em for awhile last night. Markpoon was nice enough to send materials to use as labels, but the white material was like a rubber sheet and was quite difficult to cut precisely. I'm thinking of doing the checks over. For some reason in these pics you cant see much of the turquoise paint, perhaps because they are outside shots. Anyhow, all feedback is welcome of course.

they look good but i would extend the Nike swoosh logo all the way to the back sole.Let's just hope whatever you stuck on the fabric underneath the nike logo won't show after you move it :unsure,Great job on the LEDS :thumbsup

I kinda like the swoosh ending where it does. It looks more like a nike. These shoes are kinda hard to find decent reference pics of. I used hot glue, and it doesnt come off that gray material at all. Thanks! Any luck on the sole lights yet?

And thank you mersenne

Brad, i have a question. since im 13, (my mom, i dont think1. my mom has a solder iron. and 2. if she DID have one, she wouldn't let me use it!) i need help on the NIKE strap lights, and what is used for them.
