Well, I had the lid labels ready months ago and had almost completed the side label. I stood down when we heard about a run of proper tins full of genuine pomade by the RPF'er who did the previous run! I am happy to contribute my camera ready artwork to the cause in exchange for a few tins. I didn't get as far as looking for suitable tins to use. Failing that I can provide sticky back high-gloss labels to whoever wants them when we can establish final dimensions (cost to be determined).

I have to agree with Laffo. All the shoe polish tins I have found have a little dooberry on the side which isn't accurate. Also, they're full of shoe polish. :lol

Sorry for the delay, but I am just back from vacation.

I need to check back over the middle part of this thread but hadn't somebody already prepared a bunch of tins? :confused

Their "seamless tin with plain lid" looks pretty close. The centre of the lid should be recessed rather than raised, but that's being a bit picky (perhaps?).

The bottom of the tin shouldn't have a lip. I suspect I'm just seeing a shadow in their tiny photo, but it could be a rolled lip. We need to check that.

Also their 3oz tin seems to be a bit too small to my eye. 2.7" dia. x .8". Perhaps a bit of artistic licence and using their 4oz tin would be better. What does everybody else think? (assuming, of course, that George Clooney is not a tiny guy)

Kevin, would you mind lending your artistic expertise so we can shadowbox the tins like you have? ie graphics ect.

Let's see where this project goes over the next few weeks. I shall still be making my own Dan and Fop tins (not a run, just for me). I have yet to see anybody's artwork that is accurate for either tin. I don't know if the details Kapow has corrected on this run match what I think I have seen.

The artwork for the mount I showed previously will probably be available here in the future.

If you do a run, I would certainly be in for both a Dan and a Fop. I'm getting one of the Kapow's, but this is one prop I wouldn't mind having a couple of. Thanks for all your work on these Kevin, and I look forward to seeing them when you're finished. :)
