It had crossed my mind as a possible next project, what with the up comming film n all But how big? & would I just be making a one off ??
I think the original was made in a similar way to Bob, wasn't it? foam core, covered in non set clay, wire work & then foil over that :confused
Could be made 4 x 4 foot-ish, wall mountable, displayed as seen in the new film??
Food for thought anyway

Leigh - yes it was, it was styrofoam and sulphur-based clay with a lot of wire and small electronic components. The years were not kind to it but I have it on good authority that it has been getting some expert TLC of late.
I am very much thinking something that can be cast, ha ha. Ideally more than two feet wide, but less than nine, lol - would be very desirable indeed! Four by four sounds rather nice...

FK a bunch of derelict. I think you should do a large version of the SPACE JOCKEY! I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat. I wanted this so badly, but he only made three castings:

Hmmm...interesting, a nice big scale SJ could be good fun to make aswell. There are now 3 future projects buzzing round my head....
A 4 foot Derelict,
A 2-3 foot long SJ
& a 1:1 Queen wall plaque (front of head)
plus I'm thinking about making Bob as a wall plaque option aswell (front half of his head) with a fixed mouth.
This week I'll be putting a fair bit more time into getting Bob closer to moulding. The majority of the work will just be smoothing & texturing & some fine detail.
At the moment I really need to focus on Bob. I've been struggling a bit lately focus wise, far too many distractions at home here.
