Bob the Alien (Giger inspired Alien)

God, I get goosebumps from this thread, just every single time.

That's nice! More to do? Maybe, but you just took it a long long way in the right direction.

That is good news :) Thanks guy's :)
I'll get this smoothed out a bit more & get some more progress underway :)

Many Thanks Guy's :)

Last update for a while, I've run out of materials :(
I guess I'll be back to texturing the head, thats about all I can do for now.
I could do with a little break from Bob, he's been taking up all my concetration for a while & I need to spend some time with the missus, what with Valentines day comming up ;)

Heres some pic's: :)

And to think, this is what it started out as! I just wish you had taken a photo of it in the same position at each phase so we could do a really cool morph animation.

That is insane! Mere words fail to capture the ever-increasing beauty of this sculpt.

Thanks man :)

:) That would have been cool, its still mostly there, under all the filler & clay. Although the wooden armature has been trimmed its still there, its used to slot the head onto the neck now. My coffee cup seems to have made a regular appearance in most of the pic's though :lol

pure unadulterated awesome sauwce!!!

Thank you :)

Leigh, your work continues to leave me in awe. It is so wonderful that you are sharing your creation during almost every major step. It is almost like we are watching a child grow. I just can't wait until this boy graduates from college. Keep up the fantastic work.

Thanks Guy's :)

Right, Time for a little update:
This still needs work on the chest & shoulder area but I thought I'd show you how its going:

Its been difficult to get the shape right as I dont have any reference to him in this pose.
The original has his shoulders quite far forward & he has a very small chest (a little round shouldered maybe). The leaning forward pose I'm doing has him with his shoulders back which stretches his chest & pushes it out a bit.
So lining stuff up has been a bit of a chore.
I made myself quite a bit extra work leaning him forward like that but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end.
I think its getting there though & I'm happy with it atm :)
