Bob the Alien (Giger inspired Alien)

Many thanks for all the kind words guy's :)

What a thing of beauty to look at. Giger really created a piece of art when he did the Alien...

I've got to agree with you there 100%, Giger's design is a thing of beauty, a real master peice. I just hope I can really capture enough of the essence of Giger's vision with Bob.

wow that was really quick progress, it really is amazing how the shape of the shoulders really just bring this piece together. keep it up!

Ahh good :) Thanks, I was concerned about the shape of the shoulders, I had to make alot of changes to the shoulder on this side to get it to look the way it does. I was hoping I'd got it right :)

At the rate you're going, you'll have the whole body sculpted. Now that'd be nice. Have him in the crouching pose, arms outstretched. :)

Amazing work as always !!!

Thank you :)

Not a bleedin chance :D na I couldn't pose him with arms outstretched anyway, his upper body is shaped as if his arms were slightly back.
Oh I mentioned your suggestion to my Julia & she say's NO!! :lol

I soooo bow down!

Thank you :) Your Alien is still looking superb, I'm likeing the tongue :) :thumbsup

Spent most of today reshaping the chest though you'd be hard pushed to see the difference I reckon :confused

I've enjoyed myself today though & I'm happy with my subtle improvement :)

Lol. You could put him in that crab-walk pose then. I'm gonna dig out my skull and get some measurements. After seeing this thread, I may just toss it in the trash bin.

I do hope not :behave

Amazing work!!!

Thank you :)

Today's update:
I got hold of some more foam, so I can now get on with the tubes & the other pauldron.
I've also added two inches to his height, which makes room for a bit more chest detail.
Bob is begining to look rather large as far as busts go, which worries me a little as & when it comes to moulding :confused
Anyhoo here's some more pic's:

Wow! With the neck section you have there and the new tubes, Bob has gone passed the point of excellence!

*Settles down with popcorn*

I'm not sure about the tubes :confused I can't help thinking they will spoil the overall look of him. They seem to make him look a little cluttered & uneven, awkward maybe :confused Its hard to explain...

I've thrown this next pic together as an idea, I'd really like some opinions on this possible slight change in direction.
There are advantages to altering the way he's displayed in this way other than just visual & I think maybe this looks a little more artistic if you get me :confused :)

The tube supporting him would be a continuation of the convoluted tube running down the center of his chest. I can fairly easily fab this in steel etc, I could also maybe make a bit of a feature out of the base???
Or at least something along these lines?? What do you think ?
