this is looking so awesome! really like the new spines on the back fin, its still killing me to see this with its dome on and painted. This is honestly going to be one of the most impressive alien statues for a long long time

Many thanks for all the support folks :)

I'm struggling a bit atm :rolleyes
I'm trying to create a perfect join with a plug for attaching the fin to the back but I just cant seem to get my head round it :confused
Its a really silly thing aswell :rolleyes
I've got a good feeling this morning, so hopefully today will be a little more productive :)

Thanks again for the kind words :)

I just wanted to thank you for the amazing progress pics - they are truly amazing. Seeing the Alien come to life from the beginning of the thread to the point you're at now...it's inspirational. Thank you and please keep on updating us as you have been...thank you!

Thank you guy's :)

A bit of an update: I had to re-scim the whole fin with filler as I wasn't happy with the surface finish & I've started to blend the base of the fin into the back with the clay. I've also made proper fixing holes for the tubes & all the filler is smooth enough to have a nice coat of primer :)
I've got to make the bones for the underside of the fin, looks like I'll be sculpting them in Milliput upto the join & then in clay below the join.

I'm thinking about what sort of finish to use on the inside back of the upper body :confused
I'm thinking maybe a rough finish like a rough sculpted finish, all the sculpting marks left in but in a tidy fashion :confused
Or maybe add some extra tubes n stuff & detail it up a bit :confused
Whats peoples thoughs on this :)

I think the idea of leaving it rough would be better than to busy it up with tubes and stuff. Basically leave it as it is now.

Looks really cool with the tubes connecting the jaw and the fin. Almost like a scuba look to it.

Thank you :)

Just a little update:

I've got that fin just about finished now, So I'll be moving on to the back :)
