Blade Runner Inspired Office Build: Deckard's Apartment

Small update!
I finally had a free Saturday to work on the office so I decided to finish up the very not fun task of replacing the remaining puck style Downlights with the larger square ones.
It involved moving everything out of the office, ripping out the original lights and wiring, measuring and cutting the larger square holes, rewiring the new junction boxes and installing the new lights, weathering the cut tiles, align in and adhering the dual lock Velcro and weather-stripping to seal the light leaks, install the frosted plexiglass, attach the tiles, and the the worst part, clean up after myself.

But it’s DONE!!

You’ve really managed to capture both balance in design and subtle lighting chiaroscuro from the film. Nailed it. It’s always a treat to see your updates! (y)

After work today until just about 10 minutes ago, I finished weathering the last of the tiles (along the ceiling) and then I started working on the darker gaps between the tiles.

For the grooves I used the same raw umber but darkened with black and mixed it with a lot less water. I brushed it on with a 1/2" foam brush then knocked it back with a damp paper towel. I was only able to do the back wall so I'll continue with the others tomorrow hopefully. Almost at the finish line, as far as paint is concerned!

PAINTING AND WEATHERING IS DONE!!
wow that was a lot of work. Detailing every tile and gap, working grime into every crack and corner, but I think it really makes a difference!
I will still paint the new baseboards and trim once I install them along with the new doors, but the tiles are FINISHED.

Here's a couple of before and after shots of the weathering process.
