why not?

Brandon could keep us informed on how his plans are working out so far.

Printed steel or pewter?
Why are the grips being sourced out now?

For a project running for over 2 years and that was originally supposed to have been completed by the end of 2018 I feel that the communication about where this is heading could be much improved.

Quote - I am happy with the pewter. My Richard Coyle Detective Special is made of pewter and with electronics and is one of my favorite props.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have that same prop, built by Richard.

Originally I bought it as a kit but man was it rough. I ended up sending the kit back to him and he built it for me.

Richard had to do some heavy finishing with machines to get it to look that way.

It would be cool to know some of the movies these guys did props for, just for the heck of it.

I'd be interested anyhow.

I was looking at the options that got these in everyones hands the fastest with the best quality.

Nothing has been wasted.

As for my help, i’m calling in my friends that work in the prop, model and paint departments respectively.

people who are capable of a high level of detail.

Everyone starts the first week of July.
I have 5 people confirmed.

I had one friend come by yesterday. Victor is a sculptor and has worked on Chronicles of Riddick, Power Rangers, Predator, Lost in Space, See, Magicians, etc. I had him cleaning up barrel castings with the dremel so i can start prepping them for primer.

here he is at work.

While he worked on the barrels, i started cleaning up the sights, barrel rears and barrel “V” vents.

If anyone wants out, please let me know and i’ll send your refund. I know its been 2+ years, and if any of you are getting antsy just send me a message and i’ll make it happen.

You’ve all been great, and i don’t want to take advantage of your patience.

If you are still good to deliver to those of us on the second round/those of us who signed up and payed later and it is not big of a deal; I am still good to keep my order. If it's more stressful for you though, a refund is not the end the world for me.

His surname isn't Ford is it?
My friend Harrison came over yesterday and we discussed several procedures for casting cleanup and prep and left with a big box of castings, while i continue with the grips and 3D printing.

It's not completely clear to me how this is going to proceed now? So no steel printing, but just casting? Also the carbon fiber grips will not be outsourced, but done yourself?

Brandon stated he was disappointed at the responsiveness and the followup with the manufacturer of the metal 3D printer. The price was also very high- perhaps a quarter-million dollars for the necessary startup equipment? I think the better option is to use the castings that are already existing and go from there.
