I’m still at the day job, but after hours i’m permitted to work on my own projects.

Today i’m learning the basics of a program called Devfoam. It is a drawing program primarily for controlling 4 axis CNC hotwire machines.

This is the one i was getting trained on when i flew down to San Francisco a while back. It can do up to an 8 foot long styrofoam block.

Mostly this machine will be used to cut out letters for businesses and trade shows.

I needed to learn the part of the program, where i simply imput a 2D image and generate my cut path and code to run the CNC.

This is the result, for what is really my fourth time ever using this machine.

This is just a quick and dirty test of what will become the file i will use to create the shipping inserts for all of the blasters.

Well thats all for today. Have a good one everybody.

Looks a great way for shipping these! I would advice to also wrap the blasters in silk paper or those thin foam sheets first, because I have experienced that although styrofoam looks "soft", it actually scratches finishes on objects if the item rubs against the styrofoam long enough (like in a shipping process). That's also why companies like The Noble Collection / Factory Entertainment / ... also use silk paper around their items, before packing it in styrofoam.

But when it's packed like that, I think the package can whitstand very rough handling without the blaster getting a scratch. I like it!

I was planning on wrapping them in a soft cotton like jersey knit

Wow! I can’t wait to get my hands in this bad boy. It’s going to look awesome in my collection.

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately thinking forward to the display case for the K blaster. I’ve considered multiple options, however i want it to remain within the film universe much like my original case.

This offers certain challenges...

Firstly, K is not a highly esteemed person. He would not have been presented with his blaster by means of celebration or ceremony. He is a replicant, and as such is not deemed worthy of anything special but merely functional.

Second, wood is scarce in 2049 as is leather. How do you build a case without wood, but retain a sense of value?

Several options are available...

Cases similar to the pelican..

But they really lack any sense of interest or speciality. Also, anyone could go to the nearest hunting store and pick one up.

There are endless variants of the ATA flight case, and options available to colour the aluminum and steel black.

Still, it doesn’t feel very futuristic...

Well, how about this?

Build a display case that compliments the eminator case.

Thoughts?

I like the Joi emanator base. For my part, I would like to display the gun on a Master Replicas style stand. If you did this with a Joi Emanator base I think it would look cool as hell. As far as an in-cannon case, I would have to agree that it would be nothing special. Very utilitarian with clean lines. If you could fine a case similar to the second one with cleaner lines and maybe a hex pattern (echoing K's boots) in the black part that might be cool. Another option is to get a case that looks similar to the one from the blade runner 30th anniversary DVD set.

Also, is that a stock photo of Joi's emanator or a replica? If it is a replica, where did you get it. I looks pretty awesome.

Just a loser who missed out on this throwing in my two cents :p I wanted to do the same for my K blaster while staying in the universe as brandomack said.

Basically some sort of lock/security box. Give or take a couple things. Something bare bones and could blend into the background of any scene in BR2049.

This blasters are looking amazing to say the least. Epic work, man.
