Black Widow - The Avengers Movie Style

I'll throw my hat into this ring with ya Tally. Since going red, I've been wanting to do something "hair color" appropriate. I won't be cutting my hair, most likely will style it like Iron Man 2 instead but am looking into doing this version and/or a comic version of the costume (depending on the difficulty of this version).

I apologize ahead of time for the ****ty photos. I forgot my camera and had to use my phone.

Using the master I had made during my last visit to my friend’s place (he’s giving me all this tutelage), I had to shore up any and all gaps with clay. When the silicone mold is poured over, any gaps would cause it to seep in and make it so that we couldn’t break the master free. So, the clay was used.

After this, we glued it to a piece of cardboard and made walls around it for the mold walls. Everything was made water tight with hot glue so the silicone mold wouldn’t seep through the walls and cause a mess. The black you see is merely paint to coat the clay so the silicone wouldn’t be affected by it and not adhere.

Then we poured in the silicone and let it dry for a couple of hours and carefully pried the master away, leaving the mold behind.

That was then filled with resin, cooled and pulled for the following results:

They still need to be smoothed down around the edges and painted.

To get an idea of their size, here’s what they’ll look like on the belt (again, I apologize for crappy quality pics):

Also today, we made the master for the bites. We glued together layers of styrene and then spent hours sanding it to the proper shape. Here’s a pic of it being sanded by Mike (we took turns):

And this is the completed master:

Lady S, found this pic on flickr. Your costume looked amazing at Wondercon, I was in my TDKR Bane on Saturday when I saw you. Excellent work!!!

I think it's a Glock 26. It may be a 33. Not sure exactly but the correct holster is the 26/27/33 version.

It's Definately a Glock 26 9mm with a 19 bullet clip, the 33 is a .357
If you look at the hi-res photo you cant really see the number but you can see the 9x19 and the 26 is the only 9mm they do that would fit the way the numbers look, the other 9mm's are the 17 and 19, well and the 34 but that has a longer barrel.

It's the Glock 26. One of the high-res photos online shows the barrel markings.

...oops, sorry for the double post. That's what I get for answering midway through a thread!

In reference to the material question and posted examples, in looking at the picture on the top of the page, "Why is Black widow staring at you". It definitely appears to be a Cordura/Ballistic nylon weave. It has the same texture and flat finish that several of my bags and equipment/holsters have and I suspect the seams are probably elasticized under the wide seam material, that's a guess anyway but it's how I would make it function comfortably. My 2cents worth.

It took about 2 hours to make the master and then I sat from 10am to 2am pouring all the resin ones, then a day to paint them.
Lady S, what material did you use for the jumpsuit and where can I get some from as I,m want to make my daughter a costume.

I think I have identified the fabric used for the jumpsuit as either Cordura or Ballistic Nylon. Does anybody agree with this or have another idea on the type of fabric.
