Hessian Horseman Sword scabbard

Good afternoon
I've been trying to find a decent scabbard for my hessian Horseman Sword..nothing quite grabs my attention. I was thinking of possibly recreating the one from the movie, but I wouldn't know where to begin with materials, photos are plentiful. But I just can't tell what materials are used..it almost looks like some type of black cotton/rayon brocade over the leather...but the flash really distorts it..at least for me..

To me, it looks like either some kind of faux snake skin or leather that's been dry brushed over with grey or silver paint.

Yea the more I look I think you right. But if I recall that silver white substances is a waxy film that they used to dirty up the costume
