Behemoth Head sculpt from start to finish (tons of progress pictures!)

Now molding some of the teeth, I think I will need more rebound25 to finish the rest of the teeth and mandibles. Also, I did forget to take a picture of when the mold keys were in place.

Aaaand I just got informed I made a mistake, it may not cure due to me forgetting to seal it. Also, I poured it on, and from what I could tell it needs to be applied in coats ... fingers crossed though!

Sprayed the mold and teeth with smooth on universal mold release, and now waiting for the second half to cure.

Thanks!
And yeah, I'm having a blast :D I am planning on taking pictures all the way through in hopes it can help someone in the future :)

What is the consistency of the clay you are working with ? It looks really soft and smooth like peanut butter ? Do you heat it to keep it soft.
You using monster clay correct ?

I use the plasticine clay from Michaels. Inside in the AC it gets kinda hard and waxy. Buy if I work it in my hand for a minute is softens nice.

I like this because it's like having 2 clays. I rough things in outside with it soft and then bring it inside to create the final forms and details. When hard it takes the ribbon cutters and ball tools really nice and I don't have to worry about digging in to much.

when ready to mold I leave the sculpt in front of the AC vent to get it nice and hard. This way I can apply the latex or molding material with stabbing brush strokes on the beauty coat to avoid any air bubbles.

When done with the mold the clay just pulls out and there is very little cleaning.

When I'm done with the clay I just pop it into the oven an melt it down. I usually pour 1/2 the melted batch on a board covered with plastic and roll it out on a flat sheet. This way I can cut strips and the like for details or lay the whole sheet over the armature.

The next time I'm at my local FX supply house I plan on picking up some monster clay to see how it works.
This sculpt is looking better and better every day and i hope some of the tips I use on my clay will work for you or others.

The consistency varies since I just pop it in the microwave if i leave a small ammount like what you see in the tub there it will be liquified if i have it in there for more than 30 seconds, however a full tub you need to warm up for about 4 minutes. However once I'm done sculpting for a while I take a hair dryer and blow on the clay until I can se it's just before melting, that gives you the smooth and "untouched" look. The last time I did have a few issues cleaning it out of an ultracal30 mold, however I used a hair dryer and a brush with a bit of corn oil to remove tough spots and dilute them with the corn oil, and dab it up with a paper towel.
But over all I am extremely satisfied with the clay, and highly recommend it :)
