Batman & Batgirl budget build (updated cowl 8/19/12)(pic heavy)

Re: Dark Knight duct tape (..pics..test fit of finished parts...)

this is amazing work... I suppose duct tape can really be used to make just about anything... maybe we should have a tape building contest!

That cowl looks awesome! actually the whole thing looks awesome. Can't wait to see where this goes.

Re: Dark Knight duct tape (..abs..partly finished...)

I'm loving this build, it's coming together nicely. Looking forward to more progress. Subscribing now.

Re: Dark Knight duct tape (..abs..partly finished...)

It looks like one solid piece so how does the mask expand to get on your head?

the cowl is made primarily out of duct tape and thin cardboard molded/formed onto my head with a little amount of space to allow for a baclava to be worn underneath. only the brow, cheek and nose flare is made with plumbers putty that hardens, so only the front top portion is stiff and the rest has a fair amount of flex.

worked on the belt...

THAT IS AWESOME! What are you using for the mesh, and that texture on the pecs?

The belt is pure insanity.

Re: Dark Knight duct tape (..abs..partly finished...)

mesh is an anti-slip table runner, the texture on the pecs is a plastic table place mat. belt buckle is cardboard, the belt links from eva foam glued onto yoga mat...;)

This is the most creative Dark knight suit I've ever seen... I need to sub to this thread.

Thanks :), the size/scale and symmetry is off and its a fairly rough build ,but it should be fine for accompanying the kid/nephews and nieces on Halloween:lol..

Re: Dark Knight WIP budget build(..utility belt...partly done)

Hello, did you use the pepakura file for the mask od something else? :-D

Re: Dark Knight WIP budget build pic heavy(..thigh armor almost done)

thanks bros, hopefully this will be done by next two weekends (sooner if the next storm predicted suspends work again :)) so refinements can begin prior to Halloween ( will probably redo the gaunts and shoulder bells if time permits).
