Not to offend sequel fans but realistically speaking what have this trilogy offered so far?
Over the course of two and a half decades of online arguments over Star Wars, I've come to the following conclusions:
1) People like what they like. Let them. If someone likes the PT, the ST, or only the OT, it's not anyone's job to tell them they're wrong. Art is subjective. Appreciate the fact that there's something about Star Wars they like. Fellow geeks aren't the enemy. Everyone knows the real enemy is jocks. Go pick a fight on ESPN.com.
2) "Debates" almost always devolve into phallus measuring. Put away the tape measure, get some therapy, and re-read conclusion #1.
3) The internet has convinced everyone they can be an 'influencer." People want to "influence the debate" to convince people to their "side" or shame others for being on an opposite side. This is usually driven by fear -- fear that we're not on the winning team, that we'll be an outcast, that we'll be alone. Everyone wants to belong. In the case of Star Wars, it's also because they've invested so much of their time and money into all things Star Wars that they mistakenly believe they "own" a piece of it and should have a say in how the franchise is run. They don't. George owned it and now Disney owns it. The only vote we get is with our wallets. That's it. Everything else is hot air. Get some therapy and re-read conclusion #1.
4) We are bad communicators. I'm as guilty as anyone. I've made comments I thought were innocent that were taken badly and I've made bad comments when I'm in a bad mood that people didn't deserve. People are rarely the jackholes they may seem to be based on any given comment. Be generous in both apologies and forgiveness. Then get some therapy and re-read conclusion #1.
There's probably more, but those are the big ones.

Hey! I'm a jock...lol... A nerdy jock... but still. You're right, though, movies, for the most part, are subjective. There are some crap movies out there, but that's based on the acting and storytelling. Those things are not subjective, to a point. I never listen to critics and often try to turn a blind eye to negativity focused on Star Wars. Anything we have to say about how we feel about something is always just an opinion.
Except for flat earthers... they be crazy...

to be honest, EU stuff was also unimaginative crap for the most part. Superwapon after superweapon (usualy some variation of DS superlaser put on everything that could fly), another TIE after another TIE, another bigger ISD after another bigger ISD. If you look closer, there were only a few good stories (or just good ideas for a stories that were poorly executed by their writers) that made it look batter than it really was.Not to offend sequel fans but realistically speaking what have this trilogy offered so far? Unused or slightly modified designs. In my estimation the TIE Silencer looks a lot like the old TIE Fighter game TIE Avenger.
When the original films came out is was a time of excitement because you wondered what toys/kits were coming out. That sentiment extended even to the prequels. But looking at the new movies, there is just nothing there. Color inverted TIES, a MF with a square radar dish a preliminary design of an X-Wing. Lets not forget shoe box transports, amorphous capital ships and my favorite the Buck Rogers bomber.
Disney tossed the extended universe content just to cherry pic what the new heads of Lucasfilm thought was good without understanding much of what made Star Wars great. I wish there was a movie where Luke wakes up and tells Han I just had the most bizarre dream (just kidding). Anyways, lets hope the Mandalorian and other TV series can correct course and bring us great stories and awesome new designs. Unfortunately I am so jaded about the way the sequels are going that I am not even interested in seeing TROS.

As for the designs I do like the newer ones over some of the EU ones; the TIE Avenger mentioned is too much like the regular TIE Advanced, and I prefer the Silencer to the Avenger.
You would use the SE to illustrate, wouldn't you.![]()
I misread your post then, because I understood it as yet another "disney is doing great job, stop whining, everything is awesome (everything is cool when you're part of a team), you shouldnt discuss about that - otherwise you're an hater and wannabe influencer (lol'd)", my bad. I have nothing but respect for bandai for what they did with already published models, and as for unpublished... well, at the end of the day they're yet another corporation, they will do whatever brings them money. Just hope that some more obscure stuff from OT or more prequel stuff is still on their to-do listReally?
I dont know about you but I have a lot of nice things on my shelf. A lot manufactured by Bandai, some by GKers, and some by me.
Look, I get it. I am wishing for Bandai to make what "I want" them to make too, but this forum, even though I think it's the best in the world, isn't going to change the minds of Bandai executives. I do beleive it can make a slight difference though, with some Japanese members that go to the conventions/shows, or members that have some ties to the Bandai people that run the booths at those shows, where we hope that our views are heard and mentioned to their bosses.
