I think bandai has a bit of a different mentality. They make them for people who don't always paint their models. And they want to put them together like puzzles.I have put the 72nd scale X-wing mostly together, and I gotta say I don't really have a problem with how the colored markings are separate pieces. I thought I would and I just had these visions of ill-fitting pieces looking stupid. If the yellow markings on the Y fit as well as the red on the X, I'm fine. (But let me be clear--I still think of it as over-engineering and something that doesn't "add" to the worth of the kit. I'm just glad the kits so far a fairly similar in price to what FM had, so I don't feel like I'm paying for over-engineering that I don't even want--except for the 48th scale, where I do feel like I'm paying for over-engineering that I don't want.)

Bandai has updated its official page with product info on the Sandtrooper, release date for Slave 1 and confirmation of Boba Fett also due in September.

..TFA Falcon is a digital model, so all merchandise should have the correct dimensions

Hey, John, does that mean the Bandai falcon measurements are taken from the digital Falcon used on-film? That would be awesome! Can't wait to see the 5-footer curves in a 1/72 model (or I hope 1/48).
1/12 scale figures! Like I need another modeling interest! Oh, they are so *sweet* though, aren't they?

So is Bandai just going to stop after Slave 1 and Boba Fett for this year?
It looks like they nailed the Sandtrooper. I wasn't aware of all the differences but they were!

I feel bad because the falcon was a pretty big Christmas gift from the wife. But until I have the time and courage to correct those mandibles, it goes no where.
