But are the Bandai kits officially snap kits?
Oh man...they did that front decal as a plastic piece. That sucks. People are going to hate that

I´m one of those people... Several totally unnecessary seams to fill. Seams which cross several panel lines... :angry
Apart from that one negative feature, this Y looks totally incredible.Awaiting shipping confirmation for my first three kits.

I have put the 72nd scale X-wing mostly together, and I gotta say I don't really have a problem with how the colored markings are separate pieces. I thought I would and I just had these visions of ill-fitting pieces looking stupid. If the yellow markings on the Y fit as well as the red on the X, I'm fine. (But let me be clear--I still think of it as over-engineering and something that doesn't "add" to the worth of the kit. I'm just glad the kits so far a fairly similar in price to what FM had, so I don't feel like I'm paying for over-engineering that I don't even want--except for the 48th scale, where I do feel like I'm paying for over-engineering that I don't want.)Well as I said over at StarshipModeller, we're model builders,....every kit come with compromises in manufacturing,.....scale issues,...injection moulding issues, hiding joins,....appealing to all ages & skills of the builders + keeping it fun
Bandai has succeeded
These are the best Star Wars kits EVER produced, naturally there are tweaks we have to do ourselves to satisfy our standards,....so really the moulded in colour section & their joint lines are not a huge problem
