Bandai release schedule

Hmmm. Another X-Wing. Ho-hum... pretty sure a stack of the individual X-Wing kits from across the years would be near 8 feet tall. Really, the Y-Wing design must scare a mold maker's pants off, for some reason. There are so many other SW subjects in need of release, hard to get excited about yet another X-Wing.

Also, what's up with this aversion to 1/48 scale?

I'd love a modern and accurate 1:32 x-wing kit. X-Wing is covered in 1/72 and 1/48.

Star Wars has surprisingly poor coverage in some scales. More 1/48 and 1/32!

Bandai did a decent job with 1:72 and just need a few gaps filled: Slave 1, Imperial Shuttle, TIE Bomber, Landspeeder, Sandcrawler, and Cloud Car.

Jamie has mentioned that the quote he received on tooling a large scale Y-wing was very high. So, Round2 does have interest.

I've never gotten a response about anything from Round2 on social media or direct email. :(

If the tooling cost for a y-wing is high sounds like Kickstarter could be a good fit.

A new, accurate Star Wars model would presumably generate revenue year after year for decades.

I was impressed by the Round 2 TIE Fighter. I would immediately buy a Y Wing if they made one in 1/32. An accurate X Wing would be great too. But that would leave me torn since I just invested months and $ improving the Revell X Wing.

The X-wing discussion brings up this issue. Kinda sucks that FM seems to be sitting on those 48th scale molds, and even Bandai on their own molds. Did Revell ever re-pop the FM kit? And the e-bay prices on the Bandai kit make the retail price look pretty good. Doesn't seem like R2 is going to use any old molds besides AMT/MPC.

The revell master edition is the FM repop. Which, by the time I was looking for one, had to be purchased on the secondary market. I bought the Bandai moving edition first on eBay. Then the revell 1/29 scale (also eBay). Decided to build the larger one and sell the Bandai for a loss. Wish there were more options that were readily available versus having to buy on the secondary market.

I'd be super excited to get a 1/144 and/or 1/72 Ghost and a 1/144 Gozanti-class cruiser to go with the small-scale AT-AT, AT-ST, and TIE Fighters.

Large scale kits are nice but there is no way I can afford to get them- I would much rather get smaller kits of subjects that have not been done before. A Sandcrawler in 1:72 would be good since it does appear in a couple of films and in 'The Mandalorian'. Smaller kits are cheaper to tool and I think they do a pretty good job these days with accuracy (the 1999 Eagles/Hawk for example)

Not sure a 72nd scale Sandcrawler would really be cheaper than larger "scale" kits like 48th scale X-wings, Y-wings, etc. because they would actually be smaller in size. Unless it's super simplified with no interior and no features, it might close in on $200. Even from R2. This is also why I suspect they probably won't do that.
