Alright, it's got me. I'm going to make a costume based on the head I made, so continuing to update all my progress on this thread. I have little time to work on this and little funds so I will be taking my time.

I'm thinking of making a silicone mask with a fiberglass under skull and be foam filled. This will be interesting.

Anyway With a little boredom today I began sculpting this sort of wrist and forearm thing, the wrist is at the wider part. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. As always I'm open to criticism, you can't hurt my feelings :)

Thanks, Im out of town right now, when I get back Wednesday ill start back up xD. I did sculpt the head and had just cleaned out the mold, just waiting on money for silicone. I also have a foam muscle suit I started on, it needs a new paint up because I started playing with my cheap airbrush on it : / I want to paint it all around the same time to make it match anyways. I made a thread on the muscle suit awhile back. I think I named it muscle suit wip, don't really remember.

Dude keep going looking good you got me itching to try my mits on some clay
Thank you. I know the feeling, it got me hooked. All I wanna do is sling some clay!

After some well needed rest I got to work on the sort of arm guard thing. In the space where the dome piece is I'm going to put some genuine leather to add some texture.
A couple of years back I got the full avp rubies costume. I think I'm going to steal the belt off that and mod it to my own liking. So far I have the mold for the head ready, I have a foam muscle suit (the upper body part)the belt I'm going to be modding and the right arm piece sculpted.

Ok, I conjured up some energy and finished up the forearm cover with some damage and gave that empty space leather texture so that I have an option to not put the real stuff on it. It's now being stored till I get some silicone.
I went ahead and started the bomb gauntlet. I'm just going to throw up all the pics I took of it, i dont have that may because i work on my own and i dont want clay all over my phone XD Still some work do do on it. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Well, I have ordered some dragon skin fx pro for the mask. Quick question. Are there any other ways I could effectively go about painting the silicone? I don't have the money right now for the phyco paint, nor any for the airbrush and compressor. Just wondering if I could try a different method like inks or rubber cement paint, or if I just have to bite the bullet and get the stuff? I would really like some input, it is GREATLY apretiated.

I think you should really focus your finances on getting an Airbrush, you can use propelent if compressor is out the Question. The airbrush will give you total control over colour depth, whether its just a hint of a shade or full on and will allow you to seamlessly blend colours. One's humble opinion.

Those are looking pretty nice. Kind of remind me of one of the narin gaunts.
Thank you, I just did a quick search on Narin and wow, his stuff is amazing. I see what you mean. I took inspiration from the berserker gaunts

I bought a cheap one awhile back and still have the propellant for it. I have been on the edge about getting a real one. I'm working out the money to maybe get a iwata neo.....

Thankyou so much for your input guys

Just my opinion, but if you[re going to the trouble of doing silicone, do it right the first time.  I don't have any experience with silicone, but it's my understanding that the only thing that sticks to silicone is more silicone, or paints specifically designed for it.  I know the inks and rubber cement wont stick.  As far as an airbrush goes, you will get what you pay for when buying one.  That's not to say that you can't get a decent ab for less money, but the "fancy double action" ones you see on Ebay or Amazon for 20 bucks are junk.  I know because I have 3 or 4 of them.  Also, (just my opinion) anything organic painted with a brush always looks fake to me.  It's just too hard to get the edges blended the way they need to be to look like a true head or body and not like a painted mask.  I was always told growing up that your results will only be as good as the tools you use to get them, and that has proven to be true 100% of the time for me.  Buy quality the first time, and it will last you far longer and get you the best results.

However, YMMV...

Yah,I think that settles it, kinda follows the golden rule to carpentry. measure twice cut once. I also asked my father about it since he has some good experience with painting, and he said just about the same thing.

Thank you again guys, you are an amazing help. Im going crazy on trying to get this mask finnished. I like to keep one project at a time but inbetween Im doing some of the minor things :p

Anyways, hopefully some more updates tonight.

Exactly.  I've been in carpentry/construction my entire working life, and now have my own custom furniture business.  The one thing I was taught time and time again was to get and use the best tools you can.  You can't build a kitchen full of walnut cabinets with a $150.00 table saw and expect them to look good.  Having had no prior experience with air brushes before starting my suit build, I didn't know any better and went the cheap rout.  Now I have $120.00 worth of crap air brushes laying around the shop.  I finally broke down and bought an Iwata Eclipse and love love love it!

Yah, im still learning tips and tricks on this stuff by research. i just havnt seen anything about painting silicone (other than the phyco paint) so i was unsure if there were others ways I could go about it. Well go hard or go home, i might as well go all the way I can with this. I expected to take time, but now I WILL NOT Push too hard on finnishing anything on this pred.

I'm very thankfully that you guys are willing to share your experiences with me. It helps me not make some big mistakes.

And my progress as of last night an some this morning. I'm unsure about the bearings I put for detail. I would love some opinions about it, my other idea was to engrave some similar but more intruicuit designs into those areas. Thanks again

I think you have a very good eye for detail from what I have seen of your progress so far. The gauntlet lines really flow and the piece is ergonamic. I think as far as detail goes, it is your individual ideas, just let your creativity flow and claim it as an original piece of work. If everybody went down the screen acurate route this hobby would be old hat.

Many thanks, one of the things I wanted to try is to make each piece unuique without making it too different. I completely agree, the idea that each hunter is different really makes this creature interesting and allows others to change it while keeping the basis of a pred alive. Althought I wouldn't mind a decent screen accurate suit XD
I probably shoul just stop wondering if it looks like something a predator would have and let it fly, but if I did that we would end up with a different creature lol

Having showed my pieces of work to friends and family it has blown them away and when you meet Joe Public it will be the same. You might meet the know it all Fanboy who might hit you with negative screen acurate bollocks however feel that most people will accept that you look fantastic and I so want my pic with you. In the Uk there are the Uk Predators group who attend conventions up and down the country and they all look different and that's what people want to see. Let your creativity flow, you are already creating something unique. I will next projects try to create more screen acurate pieces, but just for fun and will mix and match pieces when suited up..This hobby is never ending...lol

Sorry for a late reply but my iPhone sure does act derpy with the lair for some reason. Anyways...

My mom comes in my room (yah im 15) at least once a week like o_0 woah. If only they could see the lair! You guys have some real talent here.

I would love to Finnish this and show up in random public events just to see the reaction....
When I get some time later I will draw up some sword designs, either that or a wrist blade attachment for my first forearm gauntlet. Creativity here we go!

Your suit is also looking great bro, thank you for the inspiration.

Here's some concepts so far. I would like an opinion about the belt area. I like it but I don't know if matches the rest of the armor enough. Mods if I'm wrong to post this here, I can remove it. No big deal. Thanks guys

It's looking good so far the concepts is solid keep on truckin and post more pics of the rest of it so we can see what is happening to the rest to keep it flowing all the way around.
