heart of damballa from chucky license

Alright guys…

I'm diving into a new little side project — I'm gonna try recreating Chucky’s amulet, the infamous Heart of Damballa

I’ve seen plenty of replicas online, but honestly… none of them really do it for me
Some have weird proportions, others are way too smooth, and the versions based on Seed of Chucky have details that I just don’t like.

So I’ve decided to make my own version, staying as faithful as possible to the one in Bride of Chucky (because that’s the best design ).

I’m working on this in parallel with other commissions I’ve got going on. And since there's always drying time between resin, paint or molding steps, I figured I'd use that downtime to build some personal props
Might as well stay productive while stuff cures, right?

The goal: a properly shaped hex medallion, clean central relief, the spiral details, the engraved "ADE DUE DAMBALLA, AWAKE" line… maybe even a cursed relic look

If you’ve got good references, screenshots, build tips, or ideas to improve it — hit me up
Always happy to hear from fellow makers or fans of creepy cursed objects

Wish me luck… or a successful reincarnation
"Ade due Damballa… GIVE ME THE POWER I BEG OF YOU!"

All the key elements are there now — I’m planning to test a few different textures for the area that holds the central stone to get the best possible look.
I’ve still got to add the incantation on the back of the amulet, so it feels complete and screen-accurate.

I recently went to a prop party and like most, the host had a giveaway box. I found this at the bottom of the box. I’m no expert on the piece but I knew what it was instantly. It’s all metal with quite a bit of heft. What I found quite funny was that me and the host were the only ones that knew what it was! LOL!

Wow, I love these kinds of stories. It's always that moment when there's eye contact with the only person who knows what it is. Thank you so much for sharing

I am currently taking screenshots from the 4k blu-ray for a few things including the Heart of Damballa, I will post some screenshots for you later tonight.

Unfortunately in Bride of Chucky the Heart of Damballa is only briefly seen and the back isn't shown at all. As far as I know the screen used amulet has never been photographed outside of the movie either.

I realize that I'm going to have to do a mix between the one seen in the son of Chucky and that of the bride of Chucky. Thank you for your photos, it's great

Update ! Just ordered some AAA-quality zirconium rubies for the centerpiece — gonna make that amulet shine like it’s straight out of the movie.

Where did you get the zirconium rubies from? I am currently repainting the Trick or Treat Studios amulet and I need a new ruby for mine as well.

Here is two more screenshots from Bride of Chucky that I thought you could use, it from the scene when Tiffany is going through the Voodoo for Dummies book looking for answers and one of the pages shows part of the snake design from the amulet.

When Seed of Chucky was being made Tony Gardner and his team didn't have any of the props or reference photos from Bride of Chucky so they used the VHS and took photos of the TV screen to use as reference photos for recreate the puppets as well as the amulet. The snake design really got lost in translation when remaking the amulet for Seed but based off what they had to do I am not surprised.

Où as-tu trouvé les rubis de zirconium ? Je suis en train de repeindre l'amulette des studios Trick or Treat et j'ai aussi besoin d'un nouveau rubis pour la mienne.
I bought my stones on Etsy the seller and: Mughalgemsandjewelry - Etsy France be careful to see if your stone is full, because on some replicas the stone is cut in two. one rounded side and one flat side with a mirror effect for more shine

some improvement in the drawing of the snakes

Well, I did a quick little montage for the right dimensions of the icons in the middle of the amulet. I also did the formula on the back of the amulet. However, I'm not convinced by the texture on the back of the icon. Do you have any ideas or texture drawings? Thanks ;)

I do have a couple suggestion for the Snake as well, I think the line thickness should be the same throughout. The drawing is thinner in areas but the amulet seems to have a consistent thickness.

The other suggestion is the top left + right part of the design, the drawing has a spiral design whereas the actual amulet looks more like a hook.

Great, thanks, I think the formula looks good. And for the texture with the snake icon. The texture in the background I'm undecided. Do you have any suggestions?
