I made a mistake in having them make the back piece only have 1 row of stitching. I looked at some photos of the movie jacket and other Guess jackets and it indeed has 2. I let Indy know about it and apologized for my mistake.
Huge update! Its really turning out nice. A couple tweaks need to be made, but i love what I see. Biggest thing to be changed is the waistband. Its a bit too tall so i asked them to move it up. Detailed in the last picture below. I see they still need to fade the concentrated dye in some areas and add the second stitch line back from my mistake earlier.

Oh, yeah, moving the waistband up will look WAY better. Good idea.

It looks amazing, we’re almost there. Can’t want for the collar, liner, and end of the sleeves to be added.
I've decided since Indy Magnoli has been so patient and understanding of all of my notes and critiques over the course of the project; out of respect, I will be attaching the custom logo shield patch. Which is his branding. My original idea was a non permanent method using magnets but I have changed my mind. I had one made with his permission from someone on etsy. It's shown earlier in the thread.
I will be using iron on tape. And from my understanding, they will have the capability to add it to their products themselves for future orders if requested. I know eventually I want a blue/leather variant made some time after all of the design details are finalized. This project evolves constantly since it's the first of its kind.

Having a blue/leather one would be crazy. You guys' finished work is going to be the first time in forty years that makes a jacket like this in any capacity. This is, as you said the first and only of its kind. It's hard to believe it's been just about half a year since this project was started, and it seems you're in the home stretch.
This is, simplified to a single word, heavy.
I actually enjoy the style of the jacket outside of the movie prop so a blue/leather variant goes with my personal style. My replica has required some sacrifices to the design due to the limited amount of fabric I was able to acquire. Once those areas have been refined to be accurate I will inquire about having one made. Since they will have access to a large amount of blue denim and have the room to make things the proper sizes, it won't be a problem. I believe a new thread from Indy will be made showcasing their updated project with all of the updates needed. Theoretically you can ask for it to be any color you want so that's neat too.

It'd be awesome if they could get the correct fabric replicated. Though, I know that may be a little much to ask.
I don't think it's impossible. If one company can figure it out, others can.
