Back to the Future Guess Marciano Denim Jacket Replica

The ONLY thing that is incorrect-and this is probably just me- the segments on that waistband are too thin. The 2 segment band is thinner than the full 3-segment band, but not as thin as two of the segments on a 3-segment. The 1983 segments are an inch wide, which is TOO wide. I think the segments on a 3-and-4 are half an inch. Someone can check that for me. The segments on the correct 2-segment band are maybe 3/4" wide. I'm probably totally wrong, though.

Yeah I am aware of this. It was a sacrifice I had to make otherwise it would have been very obvious there were more stitch lines. The first pic of the waistband installed they used the full thickness of it. It had all the sections visible. I had them move it up to have the correct amount of sections. Just the limitations of the materials I had.

Will they correct it for the final products?

emmetguy222, the waistband isn't the only thing that would change with the final product having vast fabric resources. The front top panels and back piece would be wider. You'll notice at the tops of the shoulders there is very apparent if you compare it to the movie. The front panels I can tell aren't wide enough by where the points of the blue denim line up on the pockets. I looked at photos for over an hour to determine this.

I'm glad you know these things this early so the final product will be... well, final.

Kinda like this? I gotcha. It's probably not as noticeable as it seems, especially when you're gonna be wearing it.

Indy Magnoli This is a great edit showing one of the changes that should be included once the project is revisited. The front shoulder/arm hole width. I know you worked with what you had and made the best of it. One of the downsides of such a custom using rare and expensive fabric.

emmetguy222 fixed the right side blue denim. It was pertruding inward a little bit too much. Indy Magnoli, this is basically what all variations moving forward should be based on. Every size bigger than this won't be perfect, but it's a great base. Since the movie jacket was a size 18 which is about a US men's Small, and what my jacket has been constructed to be, all the measurements would be based around emmetguy222's photo edit. It might be difficult to determine how much wider the top parts need to be, but that's nothing a little trial and error can't fix. The tapers at the bottom should be simple enough for skilled sewing personnel. Same for the shortening at the bottom.

Hopefully all pricing should stay more or less the same. This could change if our denim source changes (or increased in price with the next purchase). But there should not be any dramatic shifts in pricing.
