I know you're joking, but I think this "Secret Wars" isn't based on the original 1980s limited series comic and it's sequel (which featured the "Beyonder" character), but the 2015 limited series of the same name that dealt with different "multiverse" characters being thrown together.

I hope that they will have their lenticular shields in this one…

I forgot about those crappy shields. Who doesn't remember Falcon going into battle with his "Secret Shield" emblazened wirh his own face on it?

The only character that should have a shield is Captain America, and it was extra annoying that he had one of those lenticular shields instead of his iconic shield. I remember making my own shield for him.

That toy line also made no sense, as a lot of the characters they chose weren't even in the Secret Wars comics.

At least it got us away from those crappy Kenner figures. Kenner set action figure technology back 20 years. Disgraceful!

Yes, the line was not great, but it did give us the characters that had been missing since Mego pocket figures.
