Avengers Costume Changes

From what I've read, the leaked photos are at the end of the shooting phase. They're wrapping up shooting real soon/have wrapped it up already, I'm not too sure which one but it's one or the other.

I think Mjolnir should've been kept the same also. How can you change the design of a godly weapon lol maybe Stark upgraded it ... with a silver end-cap

It's all about artistic expression they probably have different prop guys on this film.

I'd love to see a Mark VII armor but does anyone know for sure besides what the movie poster shows if they really are making a Mark VII for this movie? The pics right now just show the Mark VI.

I reckon it's best to hold off on judgement too much on the new versions of any of these until we see them actually in movie and composited (lit) properly.
Also, with the iron man kit on set, I'd say they brought that in to see exactly how the lighting of how the suits would look in that situation and so once the cg suit is added later then they'd have a perfect match (lighting wise)

totally agree about the costume changes... dislike. But Scarlett's costume is fine, I don't like the hair cut.

On Scarlet I prefer the snugger fit of the original's arms. It made her appear sleeker and more spider like.

Thor, the previous shoulder attachment of the cape making stand up more was reminiscent of Walt Simonson's version which I loved. I don;t really like the softness that resembles how Vader's cape rolled over the shoulders. The stiffer cape attachment made him appear more stoic and authoritarian.

Major fail on the new Spidey. Really no need to reinvent the wheel. His costume is iconic and was done perfectly on the last films.

that is my view on the spidey suit as well. I loved the one from the original triology. That is why I bought my replica

Cap should have been only slightly updated, I agree, the new costume is just not doing it. The Marvel ULTIMATES CA outfit would have been just fine.

Black Widow should have just stayed the same, the first costume looked better.

I'm more worried about Joss Whedon writing/directing this movie than the costumes. I know lots of people like him but his writing is just so cheesy and full of one-liners. I fear this movie will be a giant cheese fest, something the new marvel movies have for the most part avoided up until now.

His work can be a bit full of one liners, but at the same time he's done a lot of things with ensemble casts and they work because of the development and contribution of all the cast rather than one single character. Given this work is mostly TV shows, which is vastly different than a movie and you get a lot more time to develop a character, but I'm hoping by the fact that most of these characters had their own movies he can pull off his ensemble magic again. :thumbsup

Just continuing with the thread, I really dislike the new costumes. They remind me almost of some costuming in that one Power Rangers movie, and wish they had stayed with the original costumes.

I prefer black widow's new hair, mainly because the old hair was such a bad wig. It moved incredibly unnaturally.

The first trailer is up on the 11th of this month I believe. Should give us an idea of how it all looks onscreen, so holding off on judgement til next week. Time will tell...

I will go see the movie, Im a fan of Joss Whedon and his work. He takes so many different characters and really gives you the goods and after he finally got to finish things up with FIREFLY ala Serenity the movie, I was really impressed how he made it all come together. Its obvious the cheesy one liners but his take on action is pretty damn good. I cant wait to see what he does with AVENGERS.

Nice work on the pics. I'm currently working on Thor and was in a dilema on which one to do but as soon as I saw the Avengers version I was a little dissapointed. Its took a backstep IMO, the gauntlets look tacky and cheap compared to the 'Thor' versions. I do like the sleeveless version from the Avengers trailer however, I would like to see that in more detail.
As for the metal cap in Mjolnir, I don't like it. It create a little inconsistency as Mjolnir is Mjolnir, it doesn't need upgrading, but hey we can live with it.

As for the others, I do prefer TFA Cap but that's simply because I like the WW2 look. Can understand why they changed his.
I do prefer the new widow costume but as long as Scarlett's in it I don't care.
