Avengers Costume Changes

Just saw the Avengers trailer, cap has a hood that is part of the costume, wth? I guess it goes under the helmet, the latter part of the trailer shows him without his mask and helmet..again...wth.

Some new pics of the Ironman new armour. It's exactly the same as the ones seen in the release art, so I don't think anymore it was just concept art.

And why oh why change Mjolnir??? It was perfect. The costume changes can be justified, but the hammer changing cannot. What, Thor trades it in for a newer model? LOL

I think Mjolnir should've been kept the same also. How can you change the design of a godly weapon lol maybe Stark upgraded it ... with a silver end-cap

Maybe I'm missing something, but don't BOTH versions have a silver end cap on top?

Hmm, looks like someone didn't get his hair dyed! I assume this is from early in the shoot, before they needed any mask-less shots. Could be the end of shooting too, I have no idea what the schedule is.
EDIT: Fixed the pic

I think Evans started wearing a wig for this movie. He's talked recently in interviews about how he's losing his hair. I think maybe they want to make sure the looks is consistent.

I don't like most of the costume changes, especially Captain America, but I'm glad they went back to a round arc reactor for the MK7.

Honestly it's a bit unfair to compare a posed photo from the movie to a candid photo on set. I say this in regards to Cap especially as his pose in the first avenger his back is arched which pushes out his chest (typical hero pose) which definitely shows off the costume better then the other pose.

That being said, yeah the chin strap design on the newer one does look a little camp, but I suppose that was the film makers trying to create a look closer to the classic cap costume (which looking at the other elements makes sense).

Lets not forget that it's up to the filmmakers to make any changes they wish between movies, especially when it's a different director making the decisions, and usually most costumes change between movies and then usually based on reaction after release.

On the whole I like both versions of each, as they keep the right design elements for each character and it is only through comparison do we notice the differences (which 99.9% of the public wouldn't catch anyway).

Somehow, in this suit, I feel like Captain America is like the clown of it all. He actually looks quite dumb.. but that's my opinion.

I agree with you the round arc reactor looks far better than the triangle one. This is why I ended up building the MK3 although I guess the MK4 would have been fine too.
