I was able to knock out the major sections of the AVP armor tonight. I still have to build the sternum plate, but that's not going to be bad at all. I took vinmacman's advice in his template thread and sized the armor templates to 115% of published size and it seems they will be alright.
I have dug through the forums and can't find a definitive answer to my quandry. I cannot figure out whether to build the chest armor as one continuous piece that I would slip on over my head when suiting up, or if it should be built in such a way to hinge or otherwise open to make putting it on easier. I could probably build in some velcro closures along the sides of the armor, but I wonder how others here on the lair have done it.
