The build looks beautiful!!November 1, 2022
I received this Luke's Lightsaber from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983), purchased from a seller here on the RPF. This is the DS2V2 from Anakin Starkiller and Halliwax, and I promise I have not made a mockery of it by painting it my own way!

I grew up in the 80s with this model of lightsaber as my favorite, probably thanks to the iconic poster that was everywhere (see below). So even though the V2 saber is supposed to be heavily weathered and painted slightly differently, I wanted to give it a beautiful new finish; that helped me recapture my childhood! So instead of a black, I painted the neck copper (or rather Antique Gold).
The clamp card comes from the WannaWanga store, again, my own preference.
So partly accurate, and custom to me!

I'm also very proud of my application of the black on the hand-grip: I followed in others' footsteps by spraying it in flat black, and then spinning on its axis with a hand drill and sandpaper held on the edges!

(Okay, so I had learned a few more techniques since the last check in, and was starting to feel a little bit more like I belonged in this hobby!
Love this concept!!! Wicked!November 1, 2022

I received this Spanish Doubloon from The Goonies (1985), purchased from a seller on eBay.

There are several versions available out there, but I liked this one the best; it has two different types of patina going on. I also weathered it further with a black acrylic wash.

That's a recast of my Doubloon...
A few people had gotten these from the Goonie Museum in Oregon, which had also recast my Doubloon, but sold plastic versions of them... So, these plastic versions had been used to make their own...
