Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

Haven't played 3 yet (don't really find it appealing, big cities is where AC thrives) but I've been pining for a Victorian London game Jack the Ripper style...

I think AC3 would have been MUCH better if it was set in Revolutionary France.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

Id rather they would continue on the PS3 with the assasin from AC3 like they did with Ezio. Maybe save this one for new gen release.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

Oh I'd say it won't be ready for release until the next gen consoles are available.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

Just bought the first 4 with the sale XBOX Live had at the direct play versions. Hopefully I'll actually be caught up with the series by the time this comes out at least. Not that I'm anywhere close to that yet, but I'll echo the hope that they'd do more stuff with Conner than add a 4th protagonist already. I may feel differently once I actually play AC3, but coming into the series fairly recently it feels funny having Altaïr for one game, Ezio for 3, Conner for one, and then another new guy.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

I agree that AC thrived on big cities and 3 suffered horribly. But this is a pirate game, which is all I want from Ubisoft after those naval missions. Just throw in some running around on the ship, fixing riggings and whatnot, and they have my $60 no complaints. I would like to see more treasure hunting missions as well, like the Aztec temple but longer. Maybe next time they can do a proper AC in a big city. I honestly don't think they should even brand this one AC, just make a regular pirate game. It would give them more freedom with the costume design. This new one doesn't look very impressive.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

Damn, I still haven't finished AC3 yet.

Their hand was forced with this announcement, some info leaked out the other day and I guess Ubisoft felt the only thing to do was make it official.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

I'd like to see one that picks up at the end of 3 as it leaves the future open and a real time one could be interesting but i have to admit after AC3 i'm kinda burned out on it.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

AC3 was terrible from start to finish. Multi palyer was a total joke and highly disappointing. They should have stuck to big cities and a darker story line. I enjoyed the ship missions, but i like running on top of roofs n being sneaky better.

I really like your that French Rev idea.

I didn't like the game either, got about half way through it, and just got bored with it. The game is far from "terrible" though, it's a very well made game. Just not for us, I suppose.

I'll keep an eye on this one, I like the pirate theme idea. I'm still waiting for Ubisoft to give us that futuristic AC game, letting us climb towering sky scrapers and leap from flying car to flying car.

I hate to be that guy who disagrees, but...

I will not be buying AC 4; instead, I am going to buy Bungie's Infinity. That game looks like a new refreshing title. :popcorn

Can't be all that excited about it.. it's called "Destiny". And it's not a "one or the other" world, it's possible to play multiple franchises.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

It was terrible as game play / story / controls / AI / / boring ( beat it just cause i had to do it..on a misson.) yes, it was pretty pretty picture to look at, no doubt about that. didnt seem to get any lag or loading screen while moving around. It was highly polished game in the end. Just my cup of tea didnt taste like it used to, i'll get the new one after it drops to like 30 bucks or wait until my buddy gets bored with it.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

I almost did a short film about that one time... that would be the coolest IMHO too...

Haha, all I can think of is wasn't me.

I gathered as much. I'm saying that in theory I like the idea of multiple games featuring the same guy (Ezio) rather than a new lead every game (Altaïr, Conner), but if I end up disliking Conner when I get to AC3 it won't bother me as much that he's not in AC4.

Haha be all like die Conner die!!!

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

beating a dead horse? are you on drugs?
there is nothing out there like the AC series... you must not have followed the series or understand the underlying elements of the story.

Re: Assassin's Creed 4 yet another one

Am I on drugs? That's a lovely thing to say. I have followed the franchise having played all but number 3 so far. Its my personal opinion about it, that doesn't mean I am on drugs for it. I think CoD is doing the same thing spamming games out like there's no tomorrow. I enjoyed the first 2 AC games, after that I thought it got rather stale.
