Art Asylum / Diamond Select TOS Phaser build with metal parts.

Looks great!

Thanks again Chris!

Here are some pics of the finished handle fullly assembled. Let me know what you think :confused

I'm inspired by this! I just ordered metal parts from Tony at federationphaser.

I wonder how hard it would be to rebuild the sight hood so it rises a little higher and replace the plastic piece behind it with quarter-round acrylic?

I think you would have to remove the inside parts first to make room for it to fit but then you would have a non functioning phaser one. On my phaser one I just added one of Tony's metal aspirator site risers.

Yeah, I tore my P1 apart today to see if there is enough space. I'd rather keep the electronics.

I'll just get a AA from Sci-Fi-Props and know their upgrades will work AND not have to buy additional electronics from somewhere.

That's what I already did.:lol I'm just starting to tear it apart so I can get it ready to work on.

Is this an Art Asylum / DST version? If so how did you get the bottom off of the helt of the Phaser. To me it looks all plastic with no screws. Even the screws on the bottom look like they are not even real. Thanks.

Yes, it is an Art asylum phaser. It is all plastic even the screws. The easiest way to remove it is to take off the 3 screws and pry off the front nozzle collar ring then the phaser will come apart easy. If you want a more accurate replacement handle you can always get one from Tony.

Thanks. I will give that a try.

Re: Art Asylum / Diamond Select Star Trek TOS Phaser build with metal parts.

Finally have some time to get started on my next phaser project.:)
Let the disassembling begin.:p

I've been wondering where you got to, nice to see you back with another phaser. What are you doing with this one, a black & white maybe?

It's nice to be back robn1 and it's good to hear from you.:) I'm not sure yet on the color but was leaning towards a black & white. I may try and replace the original handle on this one and see what happens, but first I have to tear it apart and maybe get some good ideas from you and others.:unsure

Does anyone have the "Federation Phaser" hero buildup mod with all the extras to show off? Video would be better.

"Feyth it looks like there is a lot of colors to choose from:)

Thanks DrStranglove!"

Yes, It most certainly does! Your very welcome! :D I like Black handles, I was thinking of adding a laser smoothing out P1 and adding the blue crown... and well all the bells and whistles really... as soon as I learn what they all are!
