ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

If you don't mind waiting and most likely having a delay or two, there isn't much reason to expect issues. Generally the products I have received are fine quality wise. I know some people have had issues with quality but I don't think that is typical of their products. The biggest issue is the long wait and inaccurate shipping estimates.

Thanks, hopefully they can start pumping the back orders out for all the other customers soon

My friend ordered a proton pack and it was delivered 6 days later, so it’s definitely different shops being used

I have the F-11 and it is a nice kit. Its simple, but light and seemingly easy to mod for lighting. I got it a week after I paid, but jumped on the "In-Stock" email I got. I want one of these as well, but will most likely wait until they are in stock as they are a year away and something else may pop up. Most likely will buy though as the 3D kits are more work to get up to snuff and the metal ones are too expensive (and heavy for my old bod).

Do the parts of the F-11 need to be glued together for it to not easily fall apart? Is much trimming and cleanup needed?

There is next to no cleanup required, but glue is needed on most parts. One of the things holding me up on starting it is lighting and the scope. Everything but the barrel is sollid so I need to figure out how to hog out and drill through some parts. Masking for the paint job might be a bit of a chore too as it is Black & White. I did notice that the price has increased since I bought it as well.

I think Anovos' chose the location "Bapty" version of the E11 for a couple of reasons.

Doopy doos already make a comparably detailed resin kit for a fraction of the price (£44). It's in a way better for being hollow so you can add a spring or electronics. It's based on the studio E11, death star E11 if you will.

The Bapty has the rear half at least solid aluminium so no need to make the thing hollow for accuracy. Easier to make.

If i wanted a bapty, I'd buy a Doopys, fill in some details and spend the other £100 on more props/toys/pizza.

Well, I threw caution to the wind and jumped on the 40% off sale on in-stock items. I wonder how long it will take to ship? LOL
Cheers

So i just got some info that the shipping back log should see some significant improvement in the near future. Not sure how much i can pass along at this time but it was from a reliable source. I was under the impression that back logged shipping should start seeing light of day late this past week and ramping up the next couple weeks.

Id suggest giving them at least 10 (of the 14) business day lead time and if nothing follow up with CS

You can pass ANY information along at this time. What harm of any kind can it possibly do at this point?!!!

And didn't Anovos say that folks would have their outfits in time to wear at Celebration? Cutting it awfully thin here now because getting in the mail two days prior to the event is not nearly enough time to flesh it out.

Welp, aside from my helmet wait some time ago, I bought one of the snowtrooper kits for my fiance, since it's better sized for her. I bought one earlier last year when they first were being sold, and no issues with the kit. Though, since I'm in a rush to get her's done for celebration, I went through it all.

The first thing that I noticed is that a majority of the pieces were already trimmed. Of course, some still need additional work, but my first kit I bought from them, NONE of it was pre-trimmed except for one or 2 pieces. That's not so much as a complaint, but it backs up my idea as to why at least one forearm and cuff had CA glue residue on one side, and partial velcro attached to it. The last part, is that they forgot the damn shoulder bells! It's my belief that some of these pieces were extras or originally being prepped to be sold as "complete" costumes, rather than being in the kit.

Now I will wait and see when/if they respond to these issues.

Either way, though, those forearm cuffs are stupid small, even for my fiance who has tiny arms. I don't get why they didn't extend them at all. They made them designed to velcro to the inside of the Forearm body, but the thing is, they're suppose to be attached to the outside! Due to that design choice, it already cuts close to 1/2" off of extra length, that's bent inwards to boot. So I may have to take scrap ABS and make cuffs for her..

The only reason I am interested in this e11 is the lightweight

I bought a set of anovos trooper armor from another member here. I believe it was the very first run they did. I am piecing stuff together and want to display it on a mannequin. Can’t see me mounting a airsoft e11 with the mannequin, so this foam one was idle for me

I wonder the weight of the doopy...

I will be able to tell you soon I hope, as I ordered a Doopy on on Friday based on the comment in this thread. I know the F-11 is extremely light, it won't be a one to one comparison, but I'll post my findings. For 80 bucks 22 of which was shipping I figured I'd give it a go.

That would be awesome if you could keep me posted

The latest from customer service (as of yesterday) is that the shipment they were waiting for has arrived and is in customs before being sent to their fulfillment center for sorting and sending.

The doopys I have here weighs exactly 1kg :)
