ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

Sorry to hear that. Yes i have an in-stock order that has dragged out too. I am approaching my first 14 day plus 20-30 days soon. They also require business days... so that excludes weekends and company holidays. I have ramped up my presence on the site, but very polite.

The in-stock shipping issue started summer of 2018. They were spot on for me before that.

If you've waited that long then you should file a more substantial CS claim either email the CEO and start asking to verify they actually have your item. But open a full on ticket. Then start talking to your CC or bank to get your money back or have them persuade Anovos to provide the item you purchased within x number of days. That's my advice for you...

I am giving them the benefit of the doubt based on the info i got the other day. But if my item isn't shipped in the next week or 2, ill be pursuing my own advice.

I may take you up on that. But i'm not going to sell anything until i have it. No point in putting anyone else through the endless delays.

Oh, *insert expletive here*. Just getting off the chat with their customer service rep.

"This is all I'm told:

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY - Starfleet CaptainDuty Uniform
According to what our production team tells us here in customer service we are sending out an update, they will update you via the information found near the bottom of the item page and by email soon.

Han jacket is now Summer season June 21 - September 21

Darmok jacket is now Fall season September 22 - December 21

Star Lord jacket is now Fall season September 22 - December 21

the team will update you via the information found near the bottom of the item page and by email very soon (in the next couple weeks)"

I honestly feel sorry for the customer service reps... the abuse they probably have to endure. : /

So that's yet another TWO seasons I'll miss being able to wear three jackets... they will not be of use until spring 2020 since it's rather cold here. Their rep also insisted that an update on the entire situation with the delays will be coming "in the next couple weeks the updates should be out if not sooner." Honestly, I'm not holding my breath for this one... but if they don't come through with an update this time I might just cancel my several thousand $ worth of orders and be done with it.

Can someone please have a talk with them at Celebration? I'm sure many of us not able to go would gladly chip in for a lunch or dinner or something as a thank you...

I just talked to them about FO kits and helmets. TLJ helmet is apparently delayed to between now and June. The armor kits are still going out in the order they were ordered. For me its a bit of a bummer, but oh well. I may be dead before I see it, but then I won't care.

If at least ONE of the five things I've got on order were to be delivered each 'season', it'd be a lot less frustrating. As it is now, I'm afraid I'll get a whole pile of items at once, several years from now and get hit by monster customs fees for everything! I had a Trek Disco uniform on order even though I'm not super-fond of the show (I want to collect one uni for each 'prime timeline' series), then canceled, waited 3 months... then withdrew the cancellation before I got my refund, figuring (like an idiot) they were "only a few weeks away" so I might as well get the thing. And now it's delayed again.

Argh! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh, I say!

It would be one thing, understandable and acceptable, if Anovos missed a shipping estimate once in awhile. It happens to the even best. However, it seems that Anovos misses its estimates and deadlines, multiple times, on pretty much every item as a regular practice. This should not be acceptable and, by its itself, is more than enough cause to question the honesty and integrity of their business model.

Just got a notification that an order I placed on Jan 27 of this year for a supposed in stock item has just shipped.

I think they're at the mercy of their suppliers. I don't mean this an an insult to them, but I liken them to "professional hobbyists" in that they're still essentially trying to make RPF junkyard runs on a larger scale into a commercially viable business, in a market and time when it's hard for even garage-kit people to garner interest. The cosplay crowd either wants to do everything themselves or they want it cheap'n'fast. The number of fans that really care about having the exact same wool-weave with quality, skilled stitching, in a Next Generation uniform at a $1000 price tag, as opposed to a polyester "good enough" China-made thing with wrinkly seams at $100 is vanishingly small. Having to switch suppliers once or twice (as they seem to have had to do according to their earlier newsletters) might be a very hard blow to them- possibly ruinous if money had already been spent. I know one retailer out there (completely unrelated to Anovos) that has paid up-front for delivery of several high-end statues that the maker in China is now, for some reason, refusing to ship- and good luck to them trying to pursue legal action to get restitution there! The currently divided fan-bases of both the Wars and Trek franchises probably add a lot to the difficulties too.

There were times I thought about going into making replicas full-time but whenever I started doing the numbers I realized it wouldn't be worth it. But it still doesn't excuse Anovos' non-willingness (or non-ability) to communicate. If they would just own up to the difficulties and keep people informed, all of this would go away.

I realized today that if I canceled everything I have on order with them (and managed to get my money back in a timely fashion) I could finance half the bucket-list trip I am going to take some day.

It's now been almost a year since Jose (one of the founders), in a very sincere message to me, promised that big changes were coming. I truly wish him and his crew well, but if they haven't given us any solid info by Celebration I don't know if I'll stick around any longer.

Anovos has never delivered on time. They already have everyones money so it's not as if they have any motivation.

Being “at the mercy of their suppliers”, still, for as long as they have been in business while continuing to offer more and more items for pre-order that all have the same problems, is certainly no excuse. Worse, It only serves to highlight the glaring problems with thier business model and trying to do too much, too soon, without first fixing their problems with suppliers. It also supports the notion that, as has been suggested, they operating under a negative cash flow/pyramid-like model in which the only way to fund production of pre-order products is to offer (and pre-sell) new products. Eventually, everything is bound to fall apart and the customers are going to loose. That, more than anything, is what influenced my own decision to cancel my orders and get out.

Anovos may have started out with the best of intentions. Unfortunately, even if so, it appears to me that they have found themselves in a downward spiral toward ultimate failure that might be impossible to get out of.

Comparing Anovos in any way to Junkyard vendors, IMHO and in my limited experience, is doing a significant disservice to Junkyard vendors who better limit thier output to what they can reasonably do in a reasonable time frame and communicate better with their customers.

Well, the recent post about them finally getting on top of their old orders seems to be true. I just got notification that my in-stock order from mid-December finally shipped. So better late than never.

The interesting thing is that in the shipping notification it was listed as "Item Name (Pre-Order). When I purchased it, it was supposedly in-stock and not a pre-order. It may have just been a clerical error, so I don't know how much to read into it.

I wish you all the luck, I know you realize that you will probably be waiting years for it

Yeah, I doubt it will ever come to the part where they do deliver and already looked into other foam makers.. sad it has come to this

I guess I'm the exception. I will pay up if it's ready-to-wear and made by someone that knows the Rebel/501st Legion requirements.

At this point who in their right mind would order from this Company?!
You'd be surprised. I see posts elsewhere of people complaining and warning others not to buy from Anovos, then a new pre-order goes up. Those same people complaining are ready to give Anovos more money.
It's the definition of insanity; keep doing the same thing expecting a different outcome.

Oh yeah, it does boggle the mind, but that is it in a nutshell.

I mean, c’mon man, at some point you have to realize that enough is enough.

How much longer are you going to be taken advantage of, and being chumped by this Company

3 Months for “In Stock Shipping” Save that for someone who does not know any better

If you come on this board or in the cosplay community for some time, then I don't know how you can keep diving head first into these purchases. But there are people out there who are Star Wars fans or maybe even family/friends of fans that are not aware of the history of Anovos. They will come across the website, a facebook ad, or even walk by one of their tables at a con with no ideas what they might be getting themselves into. Those are the people for which I feel bad.
