ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

The Updates page has estimated delivery dates, not deadlines. There are many steps out of their control. Disney requires many approvals along the way. Anovos can't even post photos of their products without Disney approval. I am frustrated by the delays too, but only the items that make it through all of the steps get released. Disney can decide which products get priority by simply approving certain products quicker than others.

However the order pages on a few items that the update page says Q4 state Delivery Q3 2016 that's not an estimate that's a statement in bold letters
 
hi all, with regard to the coupon codes, I brought this up with my marketing/social media team and told them this communication on how this promotion work was poor. I've literally cut and copied your responses to them and will have them work on a new promotion that is much clearer. As far as F/O troopers helmets, we have lots of stock on them, so no worries on prolonged shipping times. Thanks for calling out this promotion out, I've always treated the forum as a microcosm of our targeted pool of enthusiasts.


I still love Anovos as I have just stated above but I tried this email code thing as well and not only did it not work it was beyond frustrating.

I personally would recommend this not be done again.

I don't think it will have a good effect on your customers most of whom are at work.

Yes and double yes on the work day. Simply put, it just wasn't clear and the intent wasn't conveyed. I'll personally work with them on the next one to get this right.

Yeah I saw the 50% off and "joined the mailing list" forgetting I was already on it (I ordered a kylo helmet a while back I had to cancel)

So they said "you're already on the mailing list" so I checked my settings, and yeah, I'm still on, still subscribed, no email.

So since I never got an email, and now it's too late, I guess I'm out!

Ugh ! The intent was definitely not meant to make you unsubscribe. Sorry about the confusion and the result. As I said, I will work a little closer with the team creating these.

I myself am a lot happier I got answers and that's what I wanted apart from getting my items it was the lack of communication as to why that I was angry about

Anovos could have used the opportunity to extend a decent percentage off to all those customers left hanging for two years but instead they want to play games. Sorry people with lives, jobs, families.

I hope those Solo rigs are being stored in decent place. They have been in the states a year now. I better not get one that has dry rotted by the time it gets here.

Don't worry Frank, we already do have targeted promotions to our Classic folks that got these runs going and waited so long. We take care of our own.

Yup, AT AT is also slated into kit form.

I have gotten no such email update! The TIE torso has been cancelled?! Is that the chest armor? Cause I've got that on order... or at least I thought I did! I've not heard peep one about it.

Not the whole Tie Torso run, just the run that was the completed Torso. The other projects (completed Tie outfit and helmet) are still on and are over 90% complete as we speak...just awaiting their packaging. As mentioned previously, we have some really pretty cool plans with the Tie armor, so its not the end of the line. We just needed to re-do the process of which they WERE created and update to it how we do things now, which is faster and more efficient.
 
Thanks Maul for answering the questions! Glad to hear that AT-AT will be kit :) (starting to feel like a kid again..."is it available yet? How about now?, Now? lol) May still reconsider buying the full costume, but I'm pretty excited to have an option to save some cash and buy more items!!! Looking forward to the Luke holster :)
 
I have no fears over the Beyond cold-weather jacket. A good deal of the issues we're having stem from Disney/LFL/both being far more persnicketty about stuff that ANOVOS' other past and current licensors have been much easier to deal with. Notice almost all the delays are over safety and packaging. Hard to factor in something you've never had to deal with before. And I'm betting they thought the Han holster issues would be a one-time cluster and the rest would go more smoothly. Two years in they're starting to see this licensor is going to be a headache in that department.

I do think they would do best to show they're learning from what's been happening, and state where in the process a given item/kit/ensemble is, rather than projected shipping dates. ANOVOS has no say in the approval process. They do their best, hope it passes, get surprised by some minor thing getting dinged, make the revisions they get told to, hope it passes, as many times as needed. If people want to bitch someone out for delays, I'd suggest well-worded and diplomatic ire directed at LFL/Disney.

But ANOVOS need to not treat this like their other licenses. Keep doing business as usual with Trek and BSG and GB. Their track record there is much better. But definitely change up how they handle Star Wars. We have some experience now that if we see "design complete, revisions complete, manufacturing issues resolved, waiting on packaging approval", we'll know it's now on the licensor, not the licensee. And we can't get mad at broken shipping deadlines because they won't have been set. I know they'll get there in the end.

Hey Got Maul, if these statements are true, and you have a clear line of communication here with people who were affected by this recent promotion and the multi-year delays, why can't you just post some promo codes here for all of us to make up for all the waiting and frustration? You say, "We take care of our own." Prove it! Put your money where your mouth is. I would love to re-order a Luke Bespin since I had to cancel mine. The fact is, I don't have that much cash at the moment to re-order now they are available... so throw me a bone. Give me a nice discount code since I got screwed over for 2 years. Post up 10 or so 50% off promo codes for First Order Helmets since there are many chiming in here who got screwed there. Make good with the core base of where you came from. Actions, not words.

As a owner of a FO helmet i wouldn´t feel very happy to see masses of 50% helmets. It would make me feel my helmet lost 50% - and for sure it would effect my future buying. No more ordering from Anovos unless the item is on sale with a massive discount. And i assume i wouldn´t be the only one thinking that way.

Sorry guys, it doesn't work like that per our contract stipulations and what Rick said. We are not allowed to directly hand out coupons into one board without LFL consideration. The only avenue we can take is provide service and better service to those who have ordered, of which we do have the emails of the people who were on that 2+ year wait. Secondly, the spirit of the coupon you saw wasn't worded clearly, which was my personal issue with it. There was NOT a 50% coupon that went into mass, it was only a one to a few at most, sort of like a blind grab bag. We would never do a 50% mass sale unless the item was on clearance, plain and simple.

Regarding the Tie Torso only run, thanks again for the additional detail. On the update page it states something to the effect that those who had cancelled orders were notified of their options...I haven't received an email yet notifying me of my options. I requested one during the live chat with a response of ASAP that the email would go out and then followed up a few days later since I didn't get it with another email address. This was several days ago and still no email. Can you share what those options are, or if not, can the folks on the live chat have access to the email/information to send out during the chat? Thanks in advance.

That should be removed or kept up to date. Farther down the same page it says "Shipping updates available via our*Star Wars*Product Updates page.*Shipping time frame given is an estimate only and is subject to change for any reason.".

There's a real argument to be made for consumer legislature to be put into place that says that the consumer is entitled to a rebate in the amount of interest on the capital at prime over the length of time between the receipt of funds and the receipt of goods/services (unless otherwise stated).
