ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

That should be removed or kept up to date. Farther down the same page it says "Shipping updates available via our*Star Wars*Product Updates page.*Shipping time frame given is an estimate only and is subject to change for any reason.".

Yes it should be changed but it has not and that's my point
My item states this further down
Estimated delivery times are available via our Release Calendar.Items on pre-order at any time are subject to change in availability, features, and estimated delivery dates.
The calendar says Q3 2016

There's a real arguement to be made for consumer legislature to be put into place that says that the consumer is entitled to a rebate in the amount of interest on the capital at prime over then length of time between the receipt of funds and the receipt of goods/services (unless otherwise stated).

What....

Just don't put money in ffs :p Not that hard to buy it later. If it is cause it sold out then that's what you're paying for. This isn't some investment, if you don't like it just cancel.

I had not seen that page. I assumed it would be the updates page, but it isn't. I think they are making it too complex by having information that should be consistent on multiple pages. That's a nightmare to keep up to date.

This might go down like a lead balloon with some, but... Anovos, you've basically joined the eFX ranks of "how to frustrated, annoy, and disappoint your customers with 5 easy steps."

I had high hopes for you guys after the abysmal disgrace that is eFX, but since you guys first hit the scene, that hope has slowly faded.

I have no fathomable idea why you and eFX announce so ridiculously far in advance without (seemingly) any clue of how to deliver within the stated timeframes. Do you just pluck a date from thin air? MR used to do okay back in the day... why is 2016 so hard for you guys?

Maybe it isn't. Ultimate Studios seem to be delivering on time. Sure, they're expensive, but at least you know you'll see the damn thing before getting cancer. I've only read 1 complete mess on their behalf, and they have promptly stepped up to correct it - profusely apologizing at every contact.

Personally, I'm now at a point in my life where I'd rather spend the extra money and not have to listen to the endless excuses and broken promises.

BLA, BLA, BLA... the broken-record of modern day high-end collecting.

I just want to enjoy the hobby again...

Ok, I'm going to chime in for a SECOND time. I am a consumer law attorney. If anyone on the RPF board is having a problem with EFX or ANOVOS and wants a REFUND or A DIFFERENT RESOLUTION, then please PM directly. I will contact Joe or Bryan on your your BEHALF for FREE. Most of us our collectors and just want the product that we paid for but both companies have run into REAL WORLD BUSINESS problems with dealing with CHINA and the price of doing BUSINESS just in general.

If you want a REFUND, then I am positive they will give you one. As I said in my last post, I have more items on PREORDER with ANOVOS then anyone here and I am going to WAIT it out because I want the PRODUCT. I commend Joe from ANOVOS for at least coming on this board and talking to us.

Again if YOU are not getting a RESPONSE that you BELIEVE you deserve then DROP me a PM and I will cointact Joe at ANOVOS or Bryan at eFX on your behalf and see what can be done. Please let me know if you just want just an UPDATE on your order or you want a FULL REFUND or will take STORE CREDIT with a DISCOUNT.

I am with you on this, of all costumes, this was my very favorite and the one I paraded around in as a 6 year old. It was also the Kenner figure I purchased multiples of and the costume I could not wait to see in the archives. I was actually afraid that when I got to see the real thing that it would be a shell of my imagination. But, I was blown away...it was a high quality costume piece and so impressed. i knew we had a huge task in replicating it and if any piece was going to be an exact replica, it was this one. From the shoulder pads to my demands on the thickest interface Taiwan could find, this had to be perfect for not only you all, but my 6 year old self.

So thank you for your patience and thank you for sticking with us for over two years. I assure you that kind of wait will never happen again and for now, please enjoy this this costume. I will be gearing it too for Halloween!

** intersting Tidbit - the uniform that this was patterned from was his "clean" uniform when he first meets Yoda.

So it really should be called Luke Skywalker Dagobah Ensemble :)

There are some major differences between efx and Anovos. Anovos communicates much better than efx. Anovos is making progress and actually starting to deliver some of the long delayed products. The delays are way too long, but it's better than most likely never receiving the efx Scout Trooper.

The reality is that at least some of the delays are out of Anovos's control. Most appear to be issues with Disney allowing them to do things. Are they having similar issues with their other lines?

Yes MR did fine for a while, but they are out of business. I don't think it would be smart to base a business model on a company that went out of business.

All good points.

From my understanding at the time, MR didn't agree with the increase in licensing fees from Lucasfilm and therefore decided to not continue with the Star Wars brand.

Regardless - the point wasn't to say MR were the be-all and end-all, but that they delivered (roughly) within the stated timeframe. These current guys are soooooooo far off the mark, it's not funny.

I was there, knee deep in the MR days, and bought a lot of items. It was a really great time to be a collector, and a lot of fun.

Now it isn't.

I do miss the MR days.

I thought that Corgi bought them out and pretty much ran them into the ground.

MR did fine while they were independent. The wait time from the first offer of pre-sale to delivery was about 1 to 2 months. Basically because they waited till items were close to ship before taking people's money.

I guess if you consider absolutely atrocious communication better than no communication. Then yes.. they are better. :facepalm
What is atrocious about the info on the Updates page? It is pretty detailed and updated regularly. Sometimes things don't show progress for quite a while. Maybe that's because there wasn't any progress. If they are waiting on an approval they can't just move the product along just because it's been too long.

Gotmaul posting on this forum, live chat on the website, and responding to comments on their Facebook page are also good examples of their communication.

I can see not liking what is communicated, but saying there isn't communication is just plain incorrect.

Here is why it is atrocious.

They do not give any good information as to the real issues.

They do not give well thought out delivery dates. They push out delays a few months and hope for the best.

They do not update the dates on the actual sales page. For instance, if someone goes to Anovos for the first time and buys the rebel flight jacket they will expect to ship in Q3. You don't expect to need to go to another section of the site to get updated info. The sales page clearly states that the customer will be notified via email of updates. Nothing about going to the update section. That is an intentional deception to new customers as they will not realize the item has already been pushed to Q4.

they do do not directly contact customers by email of issues or delays.

they primarily use their Facebook page to push sales, not to inform of issues.

RPF is not an official source of Anovos news. No where in any Anovos property does it direct customers to this thread to get "the real" information.

Got Maul only showed up here in conjunction to the delivery of Bespin items so that he could soak up compliments. If he was really concerned with keeping members here informed. His post would not be few and far between. You will notice the common aspect of members here that have been associated with companies such as Icons, MR, eFx, and Anovos... you can find them posting like crazy when they want to show off a new upcoming product to brag about it and take all the kind words, but when the going gets tough, they do not show up as much.

And that sir... is why it is atrocious.

They have gone silent for awhile when some members request a refund if not pointed out in the other thread who knows how long people would be waiting for an answer...

The Basic Tie Fighter Helmet (Classic Trilogy) release date in the updates page is hard to decipher. But I think what it is saying is that it too has been pushed back to Q4 along with the Wingman. If so, that means that 4 out of 5 of the items that I have ordered have been pushed back to Q4.

I'm focusing now on the AT - AT driver helmet which they are still saying will be released in the next 11 days.

Wow, Frank, let me know how you really feel. I would say this is pretty much the worst possible context to show up in as not only old fires are sprouting but new ones seem to pop up. Sure, I could have sent one of our customer service Reps, like Amy was to MR, but no, it's me trying to do my damn best by the community.

I am sorry you feel this way and hurt that it comes from you. But, hey, it's not going to stop us from improving and we are...both in good times and in bad.

Wow. All I hear is bitch and moan bitch and moan. AGAIN for the THIRD time, I AM A LAWYER, if ANYONE needs my help with ANOVOS or EFX then contact me. I will REPRESENT YOU FOR FREE. If you want we will SUE THEM!!! How does that SOUND?!?! Or we can work all of these issues out like ADULTS. If you are NOT getting ANSWERS. PM and I will get them for YOU!!! FREE OF CHARGE! Any takers?!?

I agree about the inconsistent information on the individual product pages, Release page, and Updates page being an issue. The information should be consistent.

If a product is waiting on an approval or testing and it is still waiting on the same approval or testing, what would be a better update than just leaving the same status with a new estimated date?

Two years was a long time but it was worth the wait. I've waited longer for things before.

I really just need boots and a belt now.
