Indiana Holt I just received my diary and to say it is transcendent would even be an understatement. I haven't had a chance to do a deep dive yet, as I'm saving that for the weekend, but I did flip through every page and this is more than I could have imagined. I can really tell the the years of practice and constant research have paid off because while it is incredibly accurate, none of the aging, handwriting, sketches, inserts or anything feel out of place or stilted from "trying" too hard to match reference. The aging is accurate AND natural. Your tool diary pages blend in perfectly with the canon pages. I legitimately will have to look back at reference images to remind me which are which. It's well worth every penny that I paid. Apart from the content, thanks for the amazing communication throughout the process and packing/shipping it with care. I could not be more elated. Thanks so much for putting in the years of dedication that have allowed me to own such a beautiful diary.

What a diary!…..

I”d very much agree with bk85’s comments, there is not really very much more that can be said about the greatness of this diary. It really is just ridiculously fabulous.

For me it has an overwhelming effect when looking at it and handling it that subtly provokes the senses as well as on another level being quite emotionally arresting.
Visually there is so much to take in. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and I’m still finding elements I did not originally see that has only added to the overall enjoyment of it.

This looks like an old, well used diary. It absolutely reeks of expected wear and tear, of much use over an extended period of time and has an elegant antique robustness.

The leather wear is subtle and considered. The marks look like they appeared at different stages in time, some look older than others, some heavier and older, exactly how you’d expect them to be which is an incredible achievement.
The page aging also has a gradual application with the latter pages showing less treatment to them. Different pages have individual weathering applied which really adds to the unique experience as you turn through the signatures.

The attention that has gone into the detail is incredible, the tooling to the leather and embossed border pattern is a joy. The inserts are spot on…which are in some instances secured in place. Where they are fixed has been carefully thought about, sensitively placed and, for me anyway, is much better for it than being loose.
I’ve shown it to a few unsuspecting people who all honestly thought it was an old book.

It is not just how it looks, all this adds to the tactility of the diary. It is a whole other experience when holding it where you feel the quality of leather and paper.

Opening it, page turning, flip through whatever, the action it has, its behaviour is just something else altogether. Those that own other versions will immediately be floored by how this acts. It is genuinely very difficult to put this thing down.
The contents that make this a ‘tool’ diary is very interesting. A great deal of thought has gone into this, a good mix of well known pages and new information which is both interesting and seemless. It is hard to see the joins it is so well done.

This is clearly a very well constructed diary. It is solid and strong and its build is consistent throughout, most definitely made by someone who not just understands the subject page contents, but who can bring an inanimate object to life and make it functional.
Despite it being a very precious, exotic item that demands respect and drips class, it cries out to be handled.

The materials are of a high quality. The paper has an age to it and the leather has a subtle patina with a rich depth to its colour.
With such good construction, robust man-handling gets the best out of it….yes, it’s a ‘shelf queen’ in its own deserved right, but it’s best experienced when it’s abused, interfered with, given a good flippin’.

Simply, this diary is amazing,…..ridiculously good. Thanks Holt.
