At this point I'm almost just considering buying a real C96 hammer and using it on my steel Mauser replica (I USED to have one, but no matter where I look I haven't been able to find it x.x). The issue with Field Marshall's replacement hammer is just something I can't fix, and short of bothering him constantly I haven't heard back from him in a while now.
Here is the original hammer:

You can see that the back of the hammer doesn't continue low enough to meet the sweep of the Mauser's frame properly, and you can tell why. As it came the diagonal angle of the hammer had been ground on by somebody.
This might not be a huge problem to some, but for me it throws off the shape of the entire hammer and makes the whole thing look super wonky in profile.
