ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies Found

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

Just wanted to update.

We, and by we I mean Carson, is very close to finishing the models. We should get some real idea about making parts shortly.

Wait til you see them! Unbelievable detail and accuracy! Carson has done an incredible job!

Very exciting.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I'd like to throw my hat in the pile as also being interested in these parts to mod my Denix... the parts have been hard to come by and it looks like you're doing a great job! Was an interest thread posted for this yet?

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

Thanks everyone!

An Interest thread hasn't been started just yet. We're working on getting everything finalized and setup to a good point before we start gaining interest.

But it's getting there! :thumbsup

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

has anyone been able to get any BluRay stills from ANH ?

I saw the scenes I posted and seems to be much clearer than the DVD and we may be able to get some new info fro those shots.

Help me OB1 Kenobi , your my only hope.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

any thoughts on those pics of the knurls?

Not sure what you´re up to!?
Is the comparsion showing a variation of already available -differently knurled- knobs/ discs (f.e.: scope bracket mounting discs) or is it just a comparsion of all possible knurlings that could be added to any machined part?

The knurling on the "hammer" definately looks similar to the one seen on the H&W scope, but I can´t make out any dimensions so it might be bigger/ smaller :confused

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

Just showing the knurl in the catalog #1740 and the sample on the silver knob compared to the scope knob.

We could never find anything even close to those knurls before and I finally found what seems close in that catalog.

I am hoping we can get that knurl duplicated for our scope knob parts.

At any rate, it's closer than a diamond knurl!

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I can do Bluray stills. Let me know which scenes/shots you want. There isn't really much to see though.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

Great!

If you can frame by frame you will see some of the shots I posted from the DVD earlier. Mine were too dark and not clear enough but the BluRay should be better.

The sequence of Han shooting out as they escape Mos Eisley has some shots that could show or at least confirm some things like the front sight /antenna area. I was able to do some frame by frame and could see some potential frames that would be good. Some in between gun shots and flashes.

When Han runs in to the Falcon there are a few frames that show the gun as well.

Also when they get out of the storage bin. That whole sequence has some good angles and may even show the top of the blaster.

This may confirm the configuration of the front sight or lack there of in the actual film.

Any others anyone can think of?

By the way, all the other parts are unbelievable. These will be the most accurate and detailed parts ever made for the DL-44 IMO.

With everyone's help, we have "proof-ed" the details and have documented all the reasoning and images.

I can't wait to see them in solid form.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

Wow, the work and research you guys put into this is just amazing.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

I think I see the t-track in 2 or 3 frames of the smuggling compartment scene but that's about it. The blaster is never close to the camera and is silhouetted 99% of the time.

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

can you get any stills?

Maybe we can enhance the images?

Thanks for the efforts!

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

You can't enhance what isn't there to begin with I'm afraid.

Thanks! You did a great job grabbing all those frames.

I see what you mean.

Maybe I'll try throwing up on my brothers 60in DLP and freeze frame to see it, maybe over Thanksgiving.

Getting close to final models in 3d!

They look great. Unbelievable detail. Very accurate. Everything lines up and makes sense now that you can see it and compare.

Can't wait to get all your reactions.

get ready!

Re: ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion

The above grabs are full 1080p (which I doubled in size since the blaster was originally tiny in them). It won't matter what size the screen/projection is, it will not add detail that doesn't exist on the bluray disc.
