Amazing Spiderman Suit using TaylorMcManus' print (Pic Heavy) (Suit Complete!)

Re: Amazing Spiderman Suit using TaylorMcManus' print (Pic Heavy)

Here is a quick update.

I have been doing A LOT of puff painting! I have total respect for anyone who has done this. It is a very tedious and time consuming process.

I completed my first piece, webbing and all. Here are a couple pics, with one showing the difference between a puff painted piece vs. the print alone.

Also, here is a quick video I took of the puff paint in the dark with light shining on it. It looks pretty awesome!! It will really give the suit the 'wet' look.

Jeff, question on your black lines. Did you do it in 1 stroke or went over it few times? They are incredible well done my friend

Re: Amazing Spiderman Suit using TaylorMcManus' print (Pic Heavy)

Just wondering, how much puff paint have you accomplished on the print? Most or just the Mask part?

And looks awesome, cool video. It actually brought back my hype for my own!

Looking awesome, man! I think you should leave the outside webbing alone until it's sewn, that way you can just go right over the seam. I know it's too late for that piece, but I think that would make things a lot easier.

i'm amazed at how cool this is!! Any luck finding a seamstress, and if so... what does one charge for sewing a suit like this together for you? Keep up the awesome work and keep us posted!!

Just one. I used the thicker tip that came in the 2 pack.

I've been woking on the small pieces now (back of mask, thumbs, etc.) I should be starting on the front chest next week.

I haven't started calling around yet. I would suspect a few hundred dollars. After putting all this time into it, I don't mind paying to have it sewn right.

How far are you at with the puff paint? Curious to see the complete pieces before you take it to the seamstress

Re: Amazing Spiderman Suit using TaylorMcManus' print (Pic Heavy)

Hey Everyone,

I have been following bulids of ASM suits for the last couple of months now. I've picked up on a lot and decided to give it a go myself. I'm going to use this thread to document my progress.

I was on the first run for TaylorMcManus' prints. The print arrived about 2 weeks ago. I am overwhelmed with the quality. For those who are waiting on the second run, it's well worth it!

I plan on using the puff-paint technique that MCL34N came up with to go over the dye sub honeycomb pattern. As well as Asics Dirt Dog 3 shoes for the soles.

Any suggestions anyone has along the way would be appreciated! It's my first time taking on a project this big. My goal is to have it completed by Halloween.

Thanks!

Did you not read the post you quoted or the thread title? He bought the print from TaylorMcManus in the Junkyard.

Pic updates please!
Just out of curiosity what is your local seamstress quoting you for?

Hey has anyone thought of customizing these to have underarm webbing? I was reading this and had a thought!
