Yes, I did see the phaser yesterday and it was not damaged; not sure where those photos came from. I spoke directly with Michael Mansfield, Consignment Director about it and showed him the photos. He said there was never any damage other than the broken side of the forward head (which we all know has been damaged for decades) that had been previously repaired. Perhaps Gregatron can elaborate on the photos he posted. The phaser stand was totally different than in the damaged photos. I took these photos yesterday, 10/10/23.

Outstanding news!!

Thank you for sharing.

The emotional twists and turns this thread makes for good cardio, not gonna lie!

I'm glad it's not currently damaged, the question is... when was it damaged? That's more for curiosity's sake than anything else, at this point.

When did Greg repair the crack in the P2? It's obviously been glues back together at some point

To coin a phrase...fascinating. I've dropped a line to my photo source to see what they think.

Not to sound too paranoid, but is it possible that the prop WAS damaged, then repaired, all within the last week?

Does that acrylic emitter match the existing photos and documentation? Could it be a replacement, added on once we found out that the original was broken off? Or could the emitter have somehow been stuck inside the body for the earlier photos?

Either way, nice to see everything back together.

It was still broken in the catalog photos so someone from the auction house must have glued (assuming it is glued, it sure looks like it). If that is the same phaser from man trap that had that break it is sort of too bad that they glued it instead of leaving like it was (although I don't think it will change the value very much as it is still that original phaser). That is sort of part of the history of that prop (although it was very likely originally glued back on sometime during the series as I don't think you would repaint it to gray from black and white and not fix the damage at the same time).

It looks like the P1 is not seated and locked into P2 body fully (maybe just sitting in the cradle). The fork is probably just under the P1 letting the tip retract way into the body (or the tip may have just been pulled out while they were working on it, its not glued in). It was probably being worked on when that photo was taken (since the side piece was glued back on in the newest pic and not in these pics) so it may have been disassembled and just set together quick (the two P2 halves look to be about 1/4in apart in those photos so not fully assembled. It looks like the top (smallest) fin is sitting on the the bottom (largest) fin so the top fin probably just came unglued from from the smoked plexi piece that is likely still glued to the 2nd smallest fin that is face down on the P1.

Probably not dropped or any new damage, just took it apart to make it look nice for the auction and took a couple before pics while it was partially disassembled.

Seems plausible.
