Re: Aliens Enviromental Suit Progress pics.

I wouldnt know which costume would have been displayed. Harry could prob. chime in on that.
It was probably the Kane costume as that's the only one that's really been seen in recent years as far as I know.

The photos I took (that are in this thread) were of the Kane suit while it still belonged to the original owner many years ago.

That will teach me to read a thread in its entirity, the picture i took a while back is on Page 3, im so pleased someone took a copy :thumbsup

I think at the Time the costume was owned by Steve at the London Prop store (could be wrong) but when i first posted the picture i was asked to take it down then lost the file due to a PC poblem

Ok. The first look at the photo etching mock ups. Thanks Karl for your hard work!!
Karl has made some changes since these but I can't print them currently.
I thought I would share this though.

Re: Aliens Enviromental Suit Progress pics.

Those "etchings" add so much more detail to it!

Will the inside be padded?

Any idea what the actors wore on their heads? (those tan Apollo-like 'Snoopy caps'?) Some British WWII aerial softhat (like the Rebel Endor moon troopers?)

Re: Aliens Enviromental Suit Progress pics.

The inside is not padded. There are little control type panels in the front and a black backing in the back. I'll be working on those next.

The inner helmet is a WW2 RAF "D" type helmet. They added some cloth at the brow and trimmed down the black rubber receiver earcups. These run around $250 to $350 on ebay when you can find them.

You can count me in for one set of everything, hard and soft.

Wow!

The etchings are awesome. Added insane amount of detail.

We need to get these helmets done soon for sure!

Re: Aliens Enviromental Suit Progress pics.

Absolutely love this. I was wondering about two things: the clear visor plate? Is it made of clear plexiglass? Or clear resin? Also, how are you doing the "chimney cap" that discharges bursts of spent C02? Apologies if you've already answered this earlier.

Re: Aliens Enviromental Suit Progress pics.

The dome is blown Plexiglass. We plan on doing a CO2 canister within the back pack with the tube running to the helmets. The helmets by themselves will not have this function. That will have to be added by the costumer if they want. But we havent been working to hard on that just yet. Just tossing around some ideas.

Re: Aliens Enviromental Suit Progress pics.

That is absolutely wonderful :)

What did the large details on either side at the back turn out to be?

"What did the large details on either side at the back turn out to be?"

No idea. I scratch built them and some other bits that were not found.
Looks pretty good though I think.
