I have yet to find a review or anyone's feedback about this Y-Wing Fighter. Has anyone built this or have any insight to the kit, accuracy, or quality of the design?

32Y-Wing

I saw it in person at JerseyFest - its smokin' Its not studio scale or studio accurate - but its an awesome big Y wing for a decent price.

i've got one that i haven't started yet.hope to start building it in the next few months.castings are good quality and detail is reasonably accurate.the size is great,i've quickly put some of the major sections together to see how big it is and while not studio scale it's size is quite impressive.
i showed it to one of the long time rpf members here (rivet counter and mad y-wing fanatic) and he thought it was ok but cockpit seem slightly off.
anyhow i'm happy with it and look forward to building.

So the cockpit itself is off or do you mean the whole nose part? Please expound.

I had a quick look, the shape of the overall head looks OK to me, but I would say the canopy itself seems too....vertical and tallish/narrow. To my eyes the canopy and glass should be a smidgin more...squat. But quite nice overall.

And what, 2/3rds an SS 'Y' for half the price. Not bad at all.

Proportions look very toy-like. I suspect it wouldn't be so hard to scratch build a better version IMHO, and for that sort of price range I for one would expect at least the basic proportions to be accurate even if the details themselves weren't.

Just my 2c ;)

i seem to remember he was talking about the cockpit ( window frame ) and the nose section as well.
once i start building it i'll test fit nose/cockpit frame and temporarily fit to main body and make some comparisons.
i think it looks ok but we'll see.got a couple of other 1/32 scale projects to finish and then i'll have a look at it.

I decided to purchase the kit. It was a lot of fun to work on. I decided to light up the engines, droid, and cockpit. I think it turned out pretty well. Still adding some finishing touches. I want to age the brass pipes some. They look too new. It was a challenge lighting the cockpit because it is solid resin. The first cockpit Alfred shipped me arrived beat up and thin on some of the armor overlap, but he quickly replaced it and was a pleasure to work with in general.

Here you can see what mofo77was talking about. The cockpit is a little boxy and could of slanted down in the front more gradually. Overall the casts were fantastic. Very detailed and no air bubbles. At 20" it's perfect for my desk at work.

"Castings were fantastic"...Wow , thank you for the kind words about the casting quality.
We here at Monkey Works try very hard to send you guys only the best.

well done kokkari, looks great.i'm halfway through building mine but stopped work on it to do another project.:)
