AAV Drop Ship

Is there a Japanese version of Shark Tank TV show? It’s where people who have inventions go and present their product to investors to get them to invest and make their product a success.
A couple of minutes on Google results with a show called “Dragon’s Den”. Perfect!

Thanks....
Yesterday, my wife went to work and told her co-worker about that ear things. The co-worker said, 'Oh, yeah I saw it on the net shopping!'
.....Dang....
Nothing good comes easy.

Thank you Katsu-san for sharing this story - Hearing EarMuffs !
I haven’t laughed so much or so hard in quite awhile :p !

Be careful though..., now that your mother’s hearing has greatly improved, she’ll be able to hear any ( & all ) grumbling from you !?:lol:!!!

OK, laugh it up, the situation here is real Exorcist movie long version.

HearMuffs!

Captain, it's illogical. :p

My mother's wound waist got better and she went back to her house Yesterday. My wife was a great assistant for taking care about elderly lady.

Then I made a kind of leg supporter for my old cat. He suddenly had cardiomyopathy on the day of the typhoon and the lower body was paralyzed due to blood clogging in the waist. Usually, no wonder if he die soon, but the clogging had removed miraculously, and after a few days he was able to walk. However, the paralysis from the heel of the left hind leg remained. So I tried to make a supporter yesterday because it looked so miserable when he walks. It was so painful to observe.
I struggled quite a bit. Using an aluminum lined with soft felt. Velcro tapes....
Fortunately it seemed to work, and now he is walking fine like a 'cat'.

And this morning, I snatched a few hours to back on to the workbench of drop ship.
Here's a simple mock-up of cockpit module.
I have been keep thinking about this part for so long and an idea came up.
How about a tilting cockpit? This ship is flying fast like a plane and land like a helicopter.
If the cockpit could tilt down when it land or strafe the ground, it might be cool.

The both seats should also be tilted to fit for the angle of the cockpit.

I'm so sorry about the very slow progress on this model.
I will try my best to reward to your kind support.

All the best,
Katsu

I love to see your progress!

I find it adorable how you care for your mother, your wife and daughters and your cat. You're a good man Katsu-san. :)

Get well Neko-chan.

Brilliant idea for the ‘tilting’ cockpit Katsu-san !
I really hope you develop it through.

Hmmm...., Modeler - check, Cook - check, Carpentry - check, Engaging Storyteller - check, Home handyman - check, Devoted Husband/Father/Son - check, check & check !
Now you’re a bloody veterinarian too !?..., check !;)(y)

WOW! Braces for cat's leg. What's next for you to tackle?

There is no end to your ingenuity and apparently nothing you can't find some fix for!

We should start calling you MacGyver

The tilting cockpit idea looks very cool as well

Here's a little gimmick for tilt the cockpit module and seats. Most simple one with hinges and a rods.

I guess 20-30 degrees tilting angle would be appropriate.
So, that I could go for the overall design of the cockpit and also I need to redesign a new canopy.
The design of the cockpit has been no more than a vague image till now and that made me stall proceeding. Now I could see a little light ahead. Still there are many things to consider but it's a very little good news made me so happy while the troublesome days.

Thank you Gents! I owe your supports so much.

...and I thought this vehicle couldn't get much cooler. Wrong again!

Your tilting cockpit reminds me a bit of the fighters from the live action "Space Battleship Yamato." (Or it would, if they'd had the skill to make physical models rather than CG.) I can't wait to see how it progresses.

Anyone else want to see Katsu-san and his daughter collaborate to make a costume for Cherunenko? :D

Thank you, Tom-san,
I'll try.

Hey! you should have told me before the Halloween!

The Drop Ship reminds me of a 3D-Model I did about 10 years ago.

The XR-53 WASP was supposed to be a light and fast modular reconnaissance ship. The cylindical pod under the belly would house recon equipment and was intercangeable depending on the mission. The cockpit could be separated in case of an emergency and escape at very hight speeds. The WASP pictured is the prototype of the A-revision, still being tested before the fist flight.

While clearly not the same ship, they could at least have shared the same universe and flown missions together.

I hope you don't mind me posting a picture of my stuff here katsu-san.

You have busy here my friend! Swiss Army Shorts! I have to see that someday!!:lol:
Your cat and the drop ship are looking great! I love the tilting cockpit idea. I'm sure will make it work.
Krest, your Wasp looks great also!

Wooow!!! That's awesome of awesomeness.
Overall design and the detail really inspire me!

Thanks for sharing this, Krest-san.

Hats off and bow..

The basic function of the Swiss Army Shorts is at least it has 4 days endurance. You can put it on normally at the first day, then back side to front on next day, reversing on third day, and back side front again on the fourth day! Also, it can use as a face mask for the arctic environment or fire evacuation. If you miss the toilette paper.......

That would be cool to have the seats pivot as well

As for cat costumes, Bat Cat would be awesome

Thanks, Analyzer-san!

I have dressed my dog as spiderdog. Not the superhero but as a spider. Really scared some people.

Oh, you did it. It scares me even if I imagine. That must be look like a 'Thing from outer space' John Carpenter version.

You're a good man, son, and husband, Katsu-san, and sometimes you make models! ;)

Thank you, Doc!

Oh, I got something to show you... wait a seconds.

Thanks!

Hi, friends,
Long time no see and I'm happy to come back to post some progress of this thread again.

I am gonna build around the cockpit and I thought I may have to start from making the figures of the cockpit.
Here the progress.
I've made a few figures before but it was deformed character like 'Vault Boy' or 'Groot' so this was my first try to make a realistic figure.

At any figure you make, the key is a good armature. I learned this fact by many try and error. So let's make a good strong and flexible one for this.

At first I made a couple of pair of hand palm with 1 mm thick aluminum sheet.

sfA8SUG.jpg

mvzTV3d.jpg

Then I used 2 mm diameter aluminum wire and some thinner one for the endo skeleton and bent them to fit the cockpit seat.

NasD5hP.jpg

NR2NOAx.jpg

Then I roughly put some 'Sculpie' on it.

QIATxBr.jpg

4sfvFa7.jpg

Then I baked this in a oven.
I haven't put the head yet.
Then I trimmed these body with a hand rooter and Exacto Knife.

Then I put some clay on the body for the head and sculpted and remove it and bake it.
The baked head piece was now back on the body and that's it.

A female pilot on the rear seat and gunner man on the front.,

I will add some details like oxygen hose or radio wires.

They will be put in these cockpit gondola later.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for looking,

katsu

Very COOL additions to the build Katsu-san, they’re looking sweet !

Although, I can’t stop thinking - due to your recent and wonderful Halloween posts & the method you’ve used to make these figures (with endo skeletons) - that perhaps these ‘ pilots ‘ are actually a new series of ‘ Terminator ‘ too !!! :p:lol:
