AAV Drop Ship

Very cool that it has moving parts. That really takes it to the next level.

Looks like the cat is very interested in lunch :D

Our cats used to always try to steal our food

We just recently lost our cat a few days ago. We lost her sister earlier this year at Christmas. They were born days apart and both lived to be 17 years old but we miss them and life's not the same without them

Fantastic scratch building. I like how you plan your ideas out and then start building it. I'll be following this build to the end.

Thank you very much!! Stevie-san.

Simply amazing! Love the practical hydraulics!

Thank you very much, korben-san.

Thanks for the picture of your love.
They were so sweet cats and I'm very sorry for your cats. You lost two in a short period.
Our cat is almost 15 years old. We lived with several cats since many years ago.
Some were dead and some were missing. I never get used to it.

I really like all the creative engineering you are including in your model.
The working tilt mechanisms are first rate!

Wow, I didn't realize how big those white round parts were. Thing is a beast.

Thanks, Michael-san,
Yup, when you connect the power line, It is trembling like a beast.
So, I had to fix those fans to have good alignment for fair rotating.

You've never yet posted a boring pic. I get at least as much enjoyment from looking at the individual components of your models as I do the overall designs.

Thank you, Tom-san!
Well, let me post a few more pics.

Finishing the nacelles.

I added a pylon to conduct a power cables.

And the power lines come out from here.

Then I made a pair of small metal parts and sandwich them between the hinge and actuator rods.
After attached the actuator unit to the nacelles, connect the red/blue cables to the small parts of hinges.

So that the pair of actuators worked as a power conductor.

Thanks for looking...

I'm sorry about the bad quality of these pics.
I've took these pics with my tablet.
Ahh... Huawei's one. My apologies.
I know, I know but it was so cheap... 100 bucks...
No wonder.

Poor katsu,

The quality of your photos are just fine Katsu-san, and the quality of your work is brilliant ! Thank you for sharing :)
A small suggestion - (which you’ve already probably thought of anyway), would you consider having those electrical leads housed in those ‘metal’ modelling type springs/cabling/tubing - I think that’d make it look more ‘realistic’ than just having the exposed wires ? Hope it’s alright to ask ?

Oh, you are dead right!!
That ia A idea.
And I ve just come up with some idea now.
Thanks my friend, I try out!

You realize none of us would be even slightly surprised if your model actually flies... :)

Naaa, but thanks.

Excellent work as usual!

Thank you.

Before it's too late, Ged -san pointed out the another idea of detailing.
Thanks, and how about this?

I finished the rest of actuator units.

Maybe I can fit these units to the nacelles by Monday.
So, I can set them on wing structure by next weekend.

Or just transformed into Optimus Prime full size.

Ha... No way!!

Thanks!

That does look better than the bare wires!

Thanks!

Agreed - the covers over the wires look just right.

Thank you! Tom-san.

That is a huge improvement over the bare wires! Can't wait to see them mounted into position!

Thanks to the advice of Ged-san,

I've just happened to come up with idea of the name of this aircraft. That was a instant inspiration and which induce me to design the nose art for this craft. i will post the design later and I hope you'll like it.

Katsu

Great model Katsu-San   Was wondering (maybe too late) if the actuator boxes could be thinner/ drilled out with holes...you know, to lightened the look and the weight kinda thing? Cool work non-the-less!!

Thank you very much, joberg-san and thanks for asking also.
That box structure will be completely covered with bulge fairing.
So the box is rotating inside of the bulge and only the hinges and the tips of actuator would be exposed.
Also this box may have to rigid enough to hold the stress of those nacelles. So I make it rather thick.

I will add fairly thickness at the end of this box for rotating mechanism.

Thank you,

katsu

I really do love how you plan out (drawings/scaled drafts) your model’s meticulously Katsu-san.
In the past, when I’ve attempted scratch builds there’s hardly been any planning involved at all, just a rudimentary sketch on what I’m hoping to see eventually....
Of course during the build ideas can/do evolve, but you’ve got a blueprint that’s pretty much solid to start off with. Excellent way to inspire my friend !(y);)

Ged-san, all you saying is exactly what I've been doing for last 12 years. And you are right on. I'm building something I've never seen before. Not that Millennium Falcon, not that Star Destroyer. If I want to have one of those, I will buy one. That would be pretty fairly good quality than I would make. But all I want to have is something you've never seen before. That is existing only in my imagination.
The first model I build had no blue print. Don't even have a sketch. I had started to build it only because I wanted to build. I desired to build it.
I drew a blue print this time but it doesn't mean I will build exactly the same thing with that blue print. It's only for the reference of the sizing. Just like any automobile company like GM or Toyota, If you want to create a whole new car, you have to start with scratching the clay. They even have no blue prints for that. That is what I call 'Scratch building'. Create something out of nothing. If you want to build a model you want, 'Just trust your feeling, Luke!' ;)
