2011 Red Y-Wing: Build Thread™

:) So a box arrived the other day! Mike your castings are so awesome! More on this when I have a chance to look at everything...

It's a pure kit for the studio scale enthusiast.

What do I mean by that? There is a lot of parts as it should be. The Y-wing is a montage of detail and parts. Those who know the model will be ecstatic... Those unfamiliar with it will probably be intimidated ... BUT Jason's build/directions will pave the way for that.

As far as I am concerned this model should be made as it was originally envisioned (with the BF109 guns etc)... And the absence of cockpit detail :)

The gold "MOM" and "Tie Killer" are to follow. What a great year!

Ralphee, sorry bro but anything said against this build I'm going to be a pit-bull on crack to keep things in check. I Have no sense of humor left when it comes to the Y-wing... lol
In short I'm sorry :)

Jamie

Gold Leader WILL happen. I'm geared up for it :)

Busy day today - more updates coming on this sucker this weekend... I spent the last two days polishing up seams and a few small areas on the body and head. It's REALLY a gratifying build. Jamie is right.

Can't wait for this.... I'm with Jamie on this .. No cockpit detail bf 109 guns an all. I have to say that I don't think I've ever lived in anticipation of a kit as much as this. Jason gives me a hard -on every time he updates this thread. Er.... That didn't come out right. But anyway great job done by all..... And I can't wait to fondle my own. (red Y).

Break out the single dollars boys! Look whose on the stage!!!! How much for a lap dance?

Guys.... we have 12 more Red Y Wings to go before there will be a run of any of the gold Y Wings.

Jamie.... Jason..... Lets finish the Red Jammer before we get everyone fired up for a kit that may never come out...

I cannot solicit on the RPF for sales until the backlog is finished. Were getting there.... lets all just enjoy the Red Jammer in all her glory!

In not too many words Jamie, its all good, passion, lets put it all down to passion.

Cant say enough good about this bird, Jason that new vid, killer, or was it Jammer lol???? You'll go blind young man LOL.

I too have to agree with Jamie and Simon, 109 guns for sure, a while back we all saw the grayscale aft shot of this bird, as first built, and it was a thing of beauty to look at.

Understood... Just having fun bro!!

Without the cockpit detail you can pretend the ship's big enough to have 3 guys in it, which is how it looks and how it was designed originally, of course.... on the other hand that detail looks so cool. I can see my build being stalled forever with prevaricating over whether to have it in there or not, lol...

What detail are you referring to?

Also, how do you know about the "3 guys". Not questioning, just curious.
