Hi All, I'm about to venture into a long and very costly build of the 1/8 scale Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger . I've read in various places that the model has a lot of inaccuracies - I'd like to reslve these but don't have any decent reference of the filming car. I've seen loads of the car sold recently but a lot of the gadgets etc don't look screen accurate.

Could anyone help with any info / pics etc that may help me to make a decent looking accurate replica please?

hi,

Is this the one from the magazine ? Bit by bit ?

Love to have one, but they're not sold here.

There has been a reference book on all the DB5's build and used in production, called "the most famous car in the world", but i believe it has been out of print for quite a while.

Hi,

check out ajb007.co.uk

its a Bond forum with a specific "post" on this model - there are some pics on there and references to other websites

Good luck

Hi wasili, yes it is , it's a shame that it isn't available near you. It may be in the future ? I know suppliers are selling them in Australia so there is a possibility. I used to have that book until it was stolen from me. :( Loads of great reference in there. I haven't been able to buy another since.

crocke007, thanks, I'll take another look there. Thank you both for your help !

Hey Mr Carson,

please keep us updated on the "build" - i'm also collecting this but I havent started building it yet - I noticed on some forums, people are painting bits of it -e.g. engine leads, weapons tray etc... and someone has even covered the seats in grey leather for added authenticity - must have so much patience !!!

So good luck and please upload some pics if you can

thanks

hi fellows, the first issue in australia started thisweek
i bought the first issue with the front grill and other bits, looks very impressive.
only thing for me is, first issue was $4.99 AUd
second is $10 and the remaining 80 or so are $20 each every two weeks!!

the car is like 3 feet long , I just dont know what it would be worth at the end ...????
