I already have Parallels to run Windows stuff on the mac but even it has some strange quirks when it comes to managing and operating hardware.
I think much of what you are seeing are production artifacts; wax, uncured resin and stuff that was used in the finishing process. I need to get a gallon of acetone and an appropriate container to clean all that stuff before painting but I'm not in any hurry. I have a philosophy of not finishing something until I have all the adjoining pieces so in this case I could only do that with the tower piece. The tower feels like it is dusted with something.
I would have liked to order the observatory base (in FUD) but it remains not for sale. Is there an issue with it?
I've been looking at Dave's armature and seeing how your pieces are related to it so I see several areas where there is sprue. That's actually why I asked the question about it (couldn't figure out how the fuel manifold pieces would be attached). Should the armature just be twice the size of Dave's? I'll probably make a plywood mockup of the stern section just to see how the pieces wrap around it.
Feedback, the interstage does not quite fit into the tower, I can't tell if it is a roundness question or a size question at the moment. That white translucent material is hard to pick out details between pieces. Probably took me 10 minutes to see the notches.
I'm glad I have started on this journey. The thing that surprised me was how small everything is. Over 6' huh? I'da been in serious trouble with the 1/700 version.
Thanks for all your work! Even with all the 3d printed stuff I see these days I still think you guys are pushing the state of the art. There are so many pieces and they are all so visible.
