I think that these parts look awesome. You can see that you guys have put a lot of time into making it accurate. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Scott, We put a lot of time into getting it right and John did a fantastic job on the mesh, there's no doubt about it. I'm still stunned when I go back and look at the years of developement. We started on this while I was working on the 1/350th..... What was it.... 5 years ago October? Wow! I worked on it all day again today and took some shots of what I'm prepping for silicone, just to find that there are still corrections to be made to what was done within the last year, or two.

The lightwave pics show the original detail and the last few shots were taken more than two years ago before WonderFest 09. I still can't figure why this went no where for so long.....????? I'm also still at a loss as to why certain things were changed.....???

Sign me up for a kit when you have them ready. They look great.

Will do, thanks for your interest. I'll be on it all day again today. I've got to get this thing moving. It sat idle for too long and there's too much time and money tied up into it for it to sit any longer. The heatwave is over and I've got to get it moving before it gets to cold to work the brittle stl parts.

Not much to show today, just sanding, preping, priming.... Matching up the fit on all of the parts and making minor corrections.....

Absolutely extraordinary! So clean, accurate, and just darned "right" looking!

Rich

Thanks, that really means a lot, we really put a lot into it. There are some minor things that need addressed and I'm going over evry one of them one at a time. We want to make sure this ship makes for a clean crisp build. I can still see areas where I'm going to have to sit down, pull my visor out and pull some of the details back out. Overall it's moving along nicely, though I would have liked to have had a done a couple of years ago.

Thanks again.

I was sitting here going over the details, making sure that everything is right and I went back to some of the references that we had for the original refit and thought that I would post some photos of the actual model, just for the rivet counters and then come back and post side by side photos of the actual parts that come with this ship. Now, we've been accused of stealing, or copying other peoples work and that is just not so. John and I worked together, for years, without any inside information at the start. We had people come in and mine us for details and send us "Purposely Incorrect" data that we had to weave through and we did indeed look at every reference available, however, we worked together and made out own dicisions based on the actual screen captures and the poorly photographed Christy's model. Poor in that it was not photographed from an engineering stand point. It was photographed from a fanboy point of view. At any rate, here are the shots of the actual model as well as a couple of other shots. I will do a side by side comparison of all of these shots.

Additionally, I was working on the electrincs as well today and came up with a nice little light source for the deflector dish, this came from an old Solar Powered light that I needed the solar panel for, so I snagged it to check out the deflector dish that I have in silicone.

Finally, I cast a couple of parts last night and I'm getting ready to make copies. I'm moving forward on the build.

beautiful work, I've not stopped in here for a while, its great to see it all moving along, still very interested in a kit

I'm totally amazed at the amount of work and total devotion to the technical apects that you two have placed into this replica. I would be proud to have a replica like this if my insurance settlement comes through...Of this, I'm totally serious.

This is an awesome project, and my favorite version of the Enterprise. Can't wait to see one completed.

Thank you. I'm glad to be back at the helm of this project, so to speak. It languished for far to long and it's exciting to be doing the work and seeing the new parts come out of resin, every other day, or so. I hope to have a big update soon. I'll definately keep you posted as to the when the kit is ready. I'm divinding my time between the actual molding, casting, electronics and finish details, when I'm not doing "Honey Do's" and other RL stuff.:lol

Thanks Mike and here's hoping you settlement comes through for everones sake!

I am helping Underdog mold and cast some parts of the 1/2 scale studio Enterprise Refit. I have to say that the level of detail on these parts is incredible. I just got a few parts molded for now. I will have the deflector housing area done by next week. I hope to cast a few parts between now and next week, however I am starting a new job (been out of work for 3 months) on Monday and have to fly to Colorado for essentially 2 weeks with only 4 days at home in 2 weeks.

Can't wait to see more of this ship. This is going to be a beautiful kit.

I was impatient and decided to cast some of your parts with the fast setting resin I had on hand. Considering the small details, the parts turned out great. Some bubbles, but that is because I did not use a toothpick in some areas and again it was a quick setting resin. These are just test pulls. Slower setting resin, some baby powder in the molds will produce less bubbles. I can also pressure cast these if I want. Overall, I am stoked.

Thank you Scott, glad you're so stoked, I've put a few parts in silicone as well, I've also been digging up all of the old vector files of the decals, aztec patterns and placement guides for the details to go onto the nacelles and the engineering hull. It appears I'll be getting some more help pretty soon.:) Looks like things are finally moving forward at warp speed!

=/\= Much more to show, just need to take the time and upload the photos.
