Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica
I'll be helping Mr. SofaKing out with some electronics for the Falcon as my time permits. SK and I have chatted quite a bit about these parts, so with his permission and good graces, I will be fabbing the rear door flashing lights and the round "radar" dodad on the rear wall. I've always wanted to make these...SK just gave me a reason to do so
and what better reason than to help him out with this completely awesome build! I'll be popping in here form time to time to show the progress
I'm going to start with the rear door lights which, I believe they are the same seven segment high voltage displays used on the carbonite block and snow speeder cockpit display. As some of you know, I already fabricate the hero panel electronics for the Han In Carbonite hero panel. It will be pretty simple to make the rear door lights using what I already make.
A good enhanced shot of what the part looks like.
This is my mock up using a couple of original Valvo high voltage displays to scale off from. There is something behind the smoke plexiglass that reflects light as you will see in the next picture so I added some circuits on the bottom. This will be covered with a smoke plexiglass cover with the metal panel on the top side.
Explosion shots show great detail you never would see normally.
Here is an enhanced collage I put together of the radar fixture. After trying to figure out the lighting for this part I came to the conclusion that all the lights I thought were on the inside, except for the spinning one in the center, are just reflections of the cockpit lights. I still may just take some liberties here and make some internal lighting. I will be doing both ANH and ESB configuration. SF will be able to change it out when he wants.
