Hey all, it’s been a while since I’ve made a post here.

Izzy sent the yokes to us here at falconspace a while back and they are absolutely amazing but we need them to be a little more durable for the cockpit since it’s going to get a lot of hands touching it.

So I began the long process of priming sanding, filling to make one yoke into a perfect copy. Then once complete it will be molded and I’ll cast copies using a technique called cold casting. Cold casting means dusting the mold with aluminum powder and mixing it into the resin itself so the final product can be polished like real metal and feel like cold metal to the touch.

But for the finish to come out right the surface has to be perfect.

Weathering can be added after the fact.

I’ll try to keep y’all updated on this as we go forward. I’ve had some medical problems lately and I’m dealing with a new disability but I’m making the cockpit my number one priority for my hobby time.

Just an FYI, I’ve started a TikTok channel last year for the cockpit. You can find me by searching @falconadmingirl

Well after searching the internet and trying to id the part on the throttle and the medical droid. I think I found the part or a variant of the part. It looks like it is a ~1970 read/write head for a disk platter. Here are a couple of images of the part and the actual movie part. Thoughts.
