1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

This is coming along brilliantly! This thread is part of my daily RPF reading routine.

Regarding the customize buttons... don't forget "Fly Casual" !! And, to restate what someone else said earlier in this thread, "Ludicrous Speed" is a MUST!

Keep up the good work!!

Hi Mag,

Thank you so much! Despite the heat I am very happy with the progress.

Not to worry... I've got all the buttons covered! I'll post an image of the text this evening. :)

Thanks again for the kind words

Hi L,

It was a busy weekend! Unfortunately the home improvement store still didnt have the 6" to 4" PVC reducers so I was unable to finish the other two barrels. I can only imagine how bulky the quad would have looked then.

As I mentioned, I'm going to look into changing the barrel width ends from 3" to 2". I think it will look less bulky. :)

It's just marvelous!!!! (a quote from Billy Chrystal):cool:cool

Ahh... Saludos, my friend... And remember... it is better to look good than it is to feel good... ;)

I can't wait to see this thing when it's finished!

Hi S,

You and ME both! lol I just hope the heat lets up... Unfortunately, I wont be painting the quad. Since it's an exterior piece I'm going to leave it primed and then drop it off with Chris Lee and his MF build. Better to have ALL the exterior pieces together when painting begins. :)

But... I have another quad to build as well...

Stay Tuned!

Love this build!

Hi A,

Thanks! Me too! Just wait for the next project coming up... :)

Hey B!

Thanks for the kind-hypenated-words! :) It was a busy weekend and the 100 degree weather (as I've mentioned) really took a lot out of me. But I am VERY happy with the progress so far. Its always a great feeling when that first layer of primer goes on - you begin to see the results of all the hard work, sweat, blood, etc...

Hope you were able to get a lot done on your room?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

hey man, I am wondering what the hose and connection parts on top are? Home Depot, Lowes? Its perfect looking!!!

Hey B,

Thanks! I got both parts at Lowes. The first is a 2' water heater hose - the brass connections are part of the hose itself. They came in various sizes and widths. This was the widest.

The second piece... I have NO IDEA what it's called. I have an extra. I'll take a pic and post. But it can found in the PVC / plumbing aisle up high near the smaller connectors and end caps. I had to sand down the end so I could screw on the brass fitting of the water heater hose. As of now, the other end is not connected to anything.

They are connected to the body using "C" clamps. I'm not thrilled with that design but I couldnt find anything else to use. Any ideas?

If all Lowes are the same the water heater hose is located near the plumbing where all the toilet related PVC pipes and hoses are. These were on the bottom shelf under the braided stainless steel hoses. :)

I hope this helps. Again, I'll post a pic of the part this afternoon. BTW - your new panels look amazing!

The pvc part looks like an expandable pvc pipe repair part. Does it slide in and out? If so, it's designed to allow you to cut out a break in a sprinkler line and put this in, expanding it to fit the space perfectly. Very handy if you have a broken line.

That is exactly right - it does slide in and out. It's fairly inexpensive at 3 dollars.

Thanks man, again, I will be stealing one of your finds and make it my own:love

Thats what I thought at first, but wasn't sure. I may even have one in my shed, from when I fixed my sprinkler system.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Never got one for $3.00. I was thinking they were more like $10 (at 3/4" size). Might should check Lowes over Home Depot next time I need one.

LOL That's what the price was under the box... I never look when I reach the register.

However, there is the VERY SLIM and SLIGHT chance that I could perhaps possibly maybe be mistaken... :)
