1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hey C,

I completely glazed over this post... what a doofus I am! I have a bag of mini switches I can send to you. If your offer still stands, I would really appreciate seeing what you can come up with? :)

Let me know your thoughts

Hi G

No problem :)

I have more supplies coming in early next week and I ordered an extra 1kg silicone kit for doing your stuff. I was thinking of getting a black curing resin for the paddles and a white one for the rockers, but can discuss via PM or email :thumbsup

Oh yeh, Josh says "your quad build is awesome!" :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

UPDATES!

Sanded down the PVC, removed all the raised letting, beginning to adhere them together and sprayed a layer of plastic primer. I wont adhere them to the base for transport purposes.

Created a cover for the base - I have to decide whether to glue this or not. If I do, I'll have NO access to the bolts keeping the PVC mounts in place...

Check out this bad boy!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Good News... Bad News...

The LEDs arrived but they delivered the wrong size... I can't use these for the instrument panel but I can use them elsewhere... UGH...

You can see two of them in the panel

Wow.

I really cant say more then that.

Thanks guys! It really is a lot of fun - and the new miter saw really helps! I'm going to put in another long day with the quad and hope for the best...

Again, I have to remind everybody that the studio model and prop version were SO DIFFERENT from one another I'm doing my best to find a equal balance - it's almost impossible to ID anything on the prop version - it was clear they used a lot of aircraft parts. However, the direction I'm taking leans more true to the studio model. So, like the console, I'll just wing it... :)

I hope it meets with everybody's approval.

More to come!

With the pics looking as good as they do I thought I would take a few of the console... after all... this is what started the whole thing. :)

Hey C!

Thanks! I'm finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And the stainless steel hoses make such a difference too. :)

At 100 degrees... I'm done for the day. ugh... its too hazy, hot and stupid outside for me to get anything done. ;)

I had been putting off working the back panel cover (the one with all the compound miter edges). I was hoping to get it finished today but the heat won. So I'm inside enjoying a nice cool beverage... spirit... whatever... lol

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Looking at the barrels... I'm wondering if the longer "end barrels" should have been 2in and not the wider 3in PVC? hmmmm... I'll go back to the improvement store this week and put together another to see how it looks.
