1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

ADVICE: Expandable Foam. I was thinking of creating a simple template out of foamcore and then spraying/filling the template with expandable foam, cutting to shape and then sealing with "fiberglass" resin (if that would work). Can anybody give me some guidance? Will these two products play well together?

Thanks

Hi D,

Believe it or not those are rubber picture frame bumbers (keep the frame from hitting the wall). I'm considering removing them and replacing with glass colored beveled tiles. And as usual... I'll try to back light them! Still thinking about it...

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

H Gang,

Also, I was able to successfully remove a few of the glass tiles using the compressed air. With this success, since I'm recreating the instrument panels (I'm adding more depth to allow for wiring, LEDs, etc) I'm going to use the current instrument panels and begin testing the 3mm plastic tiles with a backlight! :)

Glad to hear the compressed air trick worked out, for you. :cool

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

Someone just asked me a VERY interesting question... "How much would you sell it for?" Let's just say... If were to sell the cockpit once it was finished and it had outlived it's purpose (if there is such a time) what would the price tag be? I have NO IDEA! lol :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Well, just make sure you don't lose it in a card game.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

now that I think of it, this could be the greatest prop ever built... yes it will be

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Slap a million-dollar tag on it and see if any rich kid takes interest. :) My sister lives in Decatur. If I ever visit (not likely anytime soon), might also want to pay a visit once finished.

Hi Gang,

Well... I never get as much done I would like... It took some time but believe it or not... Despite the few pics. I did manage to get the door frame finally situated and ready for an actual door! :) I also finished up the Vicker Vents and of course rockers, rockers, rockers...

The first half of the rocker knobs getting their first layer of white... the other 50+ rockers... grey... A HUGE thanks to Starkiller for his 3D skills and printing

I really think I want this pic as a desktop wallpaper:). Great progress my friend, that door is coming along nicely!

WOW! Thanks much! Hopefully she'll be "finished" (enough to show off) in time by this Sept. There is an event coming up and Chris mentioned he would like to showcase the cockpit, the quad and the radar dish! Details coming! :)

Thanks! I finally figured out exactly what happened. I was working the measurements for the door when I accidently transfered them to the door frame w/o changing them... Thankfully, I only had to remove material. :) As I mentioned, I'm still working out how thick I want the door to be to include the recessed panels and greeblies. Should be an interesting adventure.

Once you're done, you have to make a "key" of some kind ;)! Looking awesome SK :thumbsup :cool

I could toss the "dice" that dangle from the top of the cockpit? ;)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

this really is amazing... subscribed :D

Hi M,

Thanks for the kind words! Just chatted with Starkiller and we're now working on a MUCH needed 3D print to help another part of the MF get closer to being finished!

Stay Tuned!

LOL! I was thinking about a 1:1 scale Snowspeeder... It appears to be the size of a car or SUV which means it would fit in the garage. Not to sure about the ATAT...
